anyone w/memory seats-does the 1 / 2 / 3 under the M lite up at nite? mine does NOT
the M button does lite but the 1/2/3 switch doesn't on both the driver and passenger sides.
I have the sedan by the way.

The "M" is backlit, but the 1/2/3 positions do not light on my sedan, either. I don't understand this. If it's true MB wants to discourage people from playing while driving, then why didn't they "darken" the "M" button, too? You can't push "M" without also pushing the control below, which is unlit. Go figure.

I may be the only odd guy around....my "M" does light up. I have heard that early 2001 cars, the M and the window switches did not light up...but all mine light up. My car was initially a Euro delivery car that a guy picked up and returned to the dealer here in Tucson because it was the wrong colour interior....but I would not think this would make a difference...it is a US spec vehicle.

I'm just questioning whether the 1/2/3 BELOW the M light up.
My M lites up as well.
I don't get it - why just the M ? - if they didn't want you messing with it at night - why not have it light up when in transmission is in PARK only - dimming once you move it out of park !

Bagwell, your question is perfectly legitimate. When looking at these controls in daylight, the M on the upper button looks like the same "type" of lettering as the (1-2-3) numbers on the settings knob, leading you to think that if one lit up the other should, too.
