Thanks for the replies guys, but I still dont know what exactly a door pin does, or what it looks like. I have just been told to get the Brabus ones and about how much they cost.
Can someone explain what they do/what their purpose is?
Thanks,
Lowell

you know when you lock/unlock the door... the little knob right next to the window on the door panel, it goes up when you unlock, goes down when you lock it...
the normal door pins still stick out when you lock the door. the CLK door pins would be flush when you lock the door. So if you open the window and stick your arm out, it won't hit the door pin where as if you have the original ones, they'll be on the way and hitting your arm...

Thanks for the info. I also found this info on www.formymercedes.com along with a picture for other people who are interested in door pins.

I got a question that is sorta OT....does your front windows roll completely down? When I roll my windows completely down, they stick up a bit near the rear about 1cm and slope down and disappear about 6cm towards the front of the car. Is this normal?

yeah i have them in my coupe. i was wondering how you liked them in the sedan. im kinda partial to the golf tees in the sedans. though they have been around awhile. maybe thats why i like em.
my friend's dad had them in his '78 300SD, my mom had them in her 300D (123) and 300E (124).

2005 c203K SS Door Pin question
OK, based on the info I found from old threads, I just unscew the door pins to remove. Did I get it right? Please someone confirm this?
Is the size of those unbeliebably ugly looking pins universal? meaning Can I use the 3rd party chrome ones?

2001 C320ss, 2005 Ford F150 Supercrew, GSXR,
Sedan door pin removal and install of door coup pins
Copied from past post.....
1. Got to your stealer and get 4 c coupe door pins.
2. Unscrew your Grandfather's Buick door knobs.
3. Look at the top of the pin and notice a little mark. This is the direction the pin will need to be matched up on the door.
4. Turn the pin over. You'll see towards the bottom that it's partially filled in on one side.
5. Look at the lock pin at the top. You'll see half of the pin is missing at the top. Line up the coupe pin to fit using the mark and match the missing on the lock pin to the filled in bit on the door pin.
6. Make sure your car is unlocked and the lock pins in their highest position.
7. Gently push down until you feel them on there tightly and cannot be pulled off.
8. Lock your doors.
9. Push all the pins down until the top round part of the pin is flush with the top part of the plastic ring around the pins. BE CAREFUL. DO NOT PUSH TOO HARD OR ANY FURTHER otherwise you may damage your lock & pins. I have heard someone on the board had pushed the pin below the flush line and wound up having to get the lock assembly replaced.
10. Enjoy the look.

just to add to Anaheim Drew's post, his instructions are for the coupe, for the sedan all you have to do is twist and turn
i personally like the silver pins better and paid a bit extra (ok, it was quite a bit extra, though i didn't go for the ones with B on it, those cost an arm and a leg) for the silver ones, but the CLK ones are nice too
