Thumbs down How do you like the sound of your horn?

Just curious how many of you like the sound of your horn. I don't like it and I don't think it was made by Hella either. It doesn't sound like a MB that I used to know long time ago.....

I agree- the horn does not remotely sound like that of my dad's old 300E- it was a distinctive sound that I wish the engineers had included on our coupes...I wonder how difficult/easy it would be to replace our horns with older units??

GJR - Good one.

My previous car was a 94 Honda Prelude. The horn was just so weak. So I'm much happier with the horn on my coupe. But still, I think it could be louder or more distinct.

Actually, that's an interesting question. I had a '99 Passat prior to my C240, and I liked it's somewhat European-sounding horn. When I got the C240 I was surprised at how "American" its horn sounded -- a little disappointed, but used to it now. At least it's loud enough!

But on another note, I really like the alarm "siren". The Passat had a wimpy sounding "beep"...

I can already see someone putting on some super-loud truck horn as a mod. Seen those once or twice before. Damn they were loud and annoying!

Geez, we're moaning about the horn, now (!) Is everyone happy with the black color of the gas cap tether? Or would you all prefer Red, or aircraft carrier "Grape?"

moomeh, you must be deaf. This is the LOUDEST horn I have ever owned among a dozen or more cars. I have had no occassion to hold the horn to see how long it blows.

my ENT says my ears are in tip top shape. maybe it is loud and i just don't realize it since i'm in the cabin. ( i can barely hear the engine roar too) but i wish the horn was like those things i have no idea what they are called...you can buy them in a can.....they are used at the ball game..maybe horn-in-a-can?
