I'm gonna guess some modified (ie steroids) form of COMAND that works 3x better than the OEM version, with Blu-Ray capability.

Winner. You nailed it. So a while back (over a year ago) I popped a new map disc into my command and it wanted to update the firmware, which subsequently bricked my entire nav drive. Luckily pulling the nav drive off the rest of the comand at least allowed the rest of it to boot and play music, etc.

So I bought a w164 comand with nav off ebay, got lucky and scooped it for $300. I swapped all the electronics between my comand and the new one. So I'm left with:
1) w164 electronics in my w203 housing with nav drive (and backup camera) and
2) w203 guts in a w164 housing with no nav drive as spare or for sale.

And lucky for me, no coding required at all. The new electronics seem to play nice with my oem bluetooth, ipod kit, and best of all, when I put it in reverse, the backup camera feed comes on so I know its already coded. Just need to buy the backup camera and cables. Planning to go aftermarket as its much much cheaper.

Damn it, I knew someone was going to point that out, haha! I'm too lazy to go shopping.

Thats stage 2. I'm hoping there is a way to trigger the backup camera feed to come on screen without putting it in reverse. I'm hoping the reverse signal is a direct signal into the comand rather than via most, then I could just use a relay. If its via most then I don't see any way.
