I was driving on the highway, and after long use and improper downpipe supports, the place where the downpipe meets the backwall of my remust exhaust separated.

The chamber seems fine, and the tips can be polished to look like new with normal wear/tear chips... however I'm not going to attempt to weld it back together.

I just ordered a spankin new one and will let this one go to whoever wants to mess around with it and pay shipping.

I figured the exhaust tips can be salvaged, and maybe if someone is brave enough to attempt welding it back together.

If I don't hear from anyone by Friday, its going to be tossed and I'll just save the exhaust tips for myself.

If anyone is interested, I just need the $$ for shipping/packaging and its yours. I'm in DC Metro area, so local pickup is also an option.

Phister, just an FYI i had Remus on my C320...was way too loud for my comfort..had to downgrade to magnaflow..

it's actually not loud at all on the coupe.. but i have 4-banger so that could be part of the difference.

i'll have the new one hopefully thursday/friday... so i'll take pictures during the switch. from what i looked at yesterday, the damage is clean and could be fixable... but i decided to just get a new one.

btw... some helpful advice to anyone purchasing from remus: they offer 15% off for "returning customers". i got mine second-hand... and they never seemed to check my order history, so they gave me the discount. it should work for any of you purchasing new as well.

Thats an easy fix...any exhaust shop would be able to remount the inlet!

it wont fit anyways, sedan exhaust are narrow short and longer, coupe exhaust are fat and high up.

Here are the two basic options i'm considering:

(1) i made this thread because i thought my Remus was a lost cause, and thought someone might want to try to salvage the parts (exhaust tips?)... if that's the case i would be fine giving it away.
-c230sportscoupe has priority

(2) if i take it to my welder tomorrow morning and they laugh at me and say its an easy fix (and not too costly), then I'll just fix it and sell it for cheap.
-i'll either sell it on here or post on ebay to sell

but something about having non-functional parts bothers me... in the same way that the extra/useless exhaust tips on the IS-F bother me...
