Auto Window Problem. Not another resync thread
Hey guys. I recently had to replace my window mount for the glass following. Laneshifts great DIY.

Problem is now the auto up isn't working right. I know I know re sync re sync.
I did that with no luck. The AUTO UP WORKS! but not completely. When pressing the auto up on drivers door and back passenger door. The window goes up completely and then comes down about 2-3 inches and stops.
I'm not sure if the window goes up to far and comes back down or the pinch sensor is coming into play here.
Any ideas?

theres a sensor on the door that will stop the window from rolling up or down to a certain point. You might have moved the sensor when taking apart the door or when reinstalling the window holder. This happened to my back passenger window when I was getting body work done to the car. The window didnt roll all the way down and stopped about 2" higher than the others. Thats the only thing I can think of that would cause that issue. Glyn will probably chim in with his two cents as well, he can usually narrow it down to what it is.

I had this problem with my car and while under warranty they replaced the motor twice to no avail. What I found it that the track on that window is a bit tight as with the bottom window seal dirty and thus the pinch sensor comes to play sensing a hand or arm is in the way and therefore stops and lowers a couple of inches
Make sure the tracks are squeaky clean, check if it gets narrower along the way, wash them out and also clean out the bottom seal. Coat the window (both sides) with RainX as it makes the window smoother and slippery.
This solved my problem (there was nothing wrong with the motor in the first place - the monkey's at the dealership can't think outside the box)

I think those sensors are too sensitive as my sunroof is showing the same issue coming back every now and then.
I haven't had the window issue but my sunroof suffered the same. It was the tracks that needed to be super clean and lube needed applying. The sunroof auto close didnt work but closing it whilst holding button did. Same as your windows.

I thought that was a safty feature so the sunroof doesn't close on your fingers. Is it really just a jammed up sensor?

Your sunroof has a feature where it'll stop half way and roll back open unless you hold the close button down. I believe someone did a bypass on this where it'll close on the initial auto close.

I had the same problem. There are no "sensors" in any window path to tell the window when it has reached a limit. I believe when you synch the windows/sunroof the limits are stored in memory and feedback from the motor tells it when to stop. I ended up replacing the window lift mechanism to solve the problem. Not expensive and fairly easy to install. If you end up replacing it make sure you have a sharp chisel for the old rivets and a GOOD pop rivet tool as the rivets are steel, not aluminum.
try Disconnecting your Battery to de sync the windows, then take the window all the way down. hold the button in the first indent untill ita all the way up keeping your finger on the button for a further 2 sec. repeat the process for all 4 windows another option is to use the conveinience feature of the remote to close all the windows.
Good luck
