Moreica_C230's Evolution Thread

Its that time gentlemen (and ladies).

I've finally started the modding process of my 06 C230. Yesterday afternoon I debadged her and mounted a color matched C55 rear lip. In a few days I will be ordering a dual cutout CF rear diffuser to make room for my quad exhaust setup that will be coming in a few weeks.

Once the exhaust is finished, I will be moving on to HID heads/fogs a month or so after that.

For wheels I will be going with 18 inch staggered Forgestar F14s in hyper silver with the deep concave set for the rears.

Coilovers may be in the works next year also, but that all depends on the money situation. I busted my *** for four years to get my engineering degree to get the job I have today......time to reward myself for it!

I will have pictures of the newly debadged rear end this afternoon after work

Sounds good to me. I will be in Jersey this weekend for the Waterfest car show with the guys, and then next weekend I will be with the family down the Cape. After that, the fun begins!

Watch out for speedtraps while enjoying all the hospitality that Jersey has to offer this weekend!

They're multiplying here, as Christie's "less is more" plan goes into full effect.

speed traps huh?

I will need to inform the guys then. We have 4 cars going down, 3 of them (not mine clearly lol) are stage 2 or higher and the drivers have a tendency to pull with whoever happens to fly by.

I will be the camera car for the trip so this could be interesting lol. If anyone else is in the area, swing by. We need to show those VW guys what real german syling looks like

Anyways: Keep your eyes on this thread

Just bit the bullet. Found a dual cutout CF diffuser for $194 shipped from Taiwan. 10 to 15 business day ship time, so anywhere from 2 to 3 weeks. Should be here just after I get back from vacation.....perfect

nice man.... I was looking for a rear diffuser but everyones rocking them now lol I like how my cars backside looks right now with just the black lower half of the bumper. Maybe I'll figure something to do with the rear bumper later down the road. Maybe I'll hack it up like my hood haha

I like Renntech exhaust idea maybe I'll do something like that.

As promised, here are some pics of of the C55 lip already mounted and me in the process of debadging and polishing up the mess left behind. As I said the rear diffuser was ordered today and will be in in a few weeks.

Let me know what you guys think and if anyone has any other ideas.

I hear ya, but around here in Boston where I live, there aren't that many with the CF diffuser (besides Ryan ), let alone modded W203s in general. If I lived in SO CAL, then it would be much harder to be unique. After all the aftermarket scene on these is not very big so our options of mods are limited.

That Reintech is going to be pretty hard to configure in our cars...there is little to no room for such piping...anyways.
I think Jose also has the CF... other than that i wish i knew more members that are in our area...but you are correct modded W203 are a rarity in our area.

soooo....yea. This weekend turned out to be en epic ****ing fail. It was supposed to be a fun weekend in Jersey with the boys at a car show, but was not what ended up happening.

Saturday morning, on the way to the beach before the show, I get rear ended......but to make it worse, the guy who rear ended me.......WAS WITH US! Not really sure what happened but someone stopped short making everyone else punch the brakes. I kind of wish that I was in the back because nothing would have happened then. The guy who hit me has an 03 stage II jetta 1.8t.....but one thing that weren't stage 2......his brakes . I probably out braked him by 20 feet, unfortunately there were only about 15 feet between us . The sport breaks on these C230s are insane to say the least.

As you can tell from the pictures....VWs are made up of a bit more plastic that I thought.

Moral of the story Mercedes > Volkswagon

The picture is actually deceiving. The entire trunk assembly is pushed in. The drunk will not latch, and my tail lights are bent inward. The spare tire well is also shatters and the entire trunk is pushed up onto the rear window. I think the exhaust might also have been whacked because it too looks bent inwards. I feel sorry for the guy who hit me......it is not going to be cheap to fix. I also just put the C55 lip on 3 days prior. In my book that is "factory". May not have been on myyyyy car, but factory none the less lol.

I'm going to have to go through the estimate of the other insurance. I was the one hit, so the insurance of the other driver is coming out to appraise it. I'll have to go for a second opinion if I have any issues.

Im going to go with a quad setup very similar to the c55. I personally think that set up is the sexiest one around. I will also be getting the insurance to cover the cracked rear lip that I just put on.

As for the damage, its a good thing she has a big black ***

I heard those things can handle alot of damage

Look at Kimsters setup and see if you can find a C55 spare tire basin for a full Dual.

Exclamation

I have a question that needs a promptly responce as I don't have much time to figure everything is. As you all know I got rear ended this weekend and will be putting the car in the shop monday at 8am. My cf rear diffuser came in last night so I will be having the shop professionally install that for me.

However, I had plans to put in an amg quad exhaust set up to replace the standard C230 left sided exhaust. After the accident though, the spare wheel well has cracked and will need to be replase, so here is my question.

Will the standard C230 exhaust fit around the left side of the C55 spare tire well until I get the chance to switch to the true dual setup (with c55 well). Insurance gave me 700 dollars to replace the cat back piping that ended up being bent during impact. My plan was to pocket that money and bend the current setup back and install the C55 sparetire well, and then use the insurance money for the exhaust (that wasnt used) to install the true dual in a few weeks. The sooner I can get an answer on this the better!

Thanks everyone!

Does anyone know if this will work?

Why wouldn't it? Doesn't the C55 have larger pipes?
