So.. today I locked my keys in my trunk
I'll skip the off-topic stuff.
But essentially, I did not unlock my car.
I pressed the pop trunk on my key Fob.
I left my keys in the trunk.
I closed my trunk.
My trunk would not open.
I was locked out.
With my keys in the trunk.
OOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMGGGGGGGGG!!!!
I had left my moon roof popped up.
I utilized some old school clothes hanger and going in from my popped up moon roof pulled the door pin up.
(To save the hassle, I think that I should've gotten an even longer one and tried to poke at the electronic trunk button)
Opened the door.
Alarm went off.
Pressed the trunk open. Didn't open.
Tried my luck with the rear seats (sometimes they don't get pushed hard enough, so they might not have been locked)
They were locked.
I could not get to my trunk.
I called my Road Side Assistance.
Before they started towing, rear end up, I pulled my parking brake and all my door locks opened.
I am sure I tried using the electronic button on the driver's door to see if the trunk would open.
I did not check the manual latch in the back once my car was towed up.
Towed it about a mile back to my apartment.
Right as the tow-truck dropped off my car and took off the latches.. I had the urge to test my luck one more time.
I pressed the rear latch, LO and behold, I hear that wondrous hydraulic noise, and my trunk opened. Showing me my keys.
So what I'm trying to figure out for future references...
If your key(s) are locked in the trunk. And you have not unlocked your car; the alarm is armed.
Does pulling the parking brake release the alarm?
Or
Did jacking up the rear of the car release the alarm?
Or
Did the 1 mile of towing somehow reset the alarm, and allowed manual opening of the trunk?
Please discuss/speculate.
I read about pressing that with the unlock to turn off the alarm, but I don't see an anti-tow button in my car.
Whoever asked about the unlock button...
