new guy audio ?'s
lets start by saying i own a 07 c230 sport i live in tampa FL
i bought a complete system for my car and i took it in too Auto safe & sound
to get installed.
heres what i got
Pioneer avh 4300
Polk pa660 4 channel
Kenwood 8104d 1000watt
2 6.5 Alpine type s compnents
1 15 Kicker Solo Classic
$250 to put it in
so they priced me at $400 WITH TINT :HAPPY:
ok so they dident have my dashkit so i had to order it $27 np
now i go to put it in 8-20-11
and they called me 4 hours later saying my amps to small to push the 15 KICKER ok thats 1.
AND THEN HE SAID HE COULDENT PUT MY RADIO IN BECAUSE THERES FIBEROPTICS? is it true?.....20 FOR AN ANOTHER HARNESS
thats 2.
and then they say i have 8 speakers and i know i dont
and they tell me the 6.5 comp are too big and i would need to seal my doors?
so theyer really telling me to NOT PUT THE 4 6.5 COMP IN and I DONT NEED THE 4 CHANNEL AMP
CAN SOMBODY PLEASE VERIFY THIS
sorry for being all over the place im using my phone
im looking for my vocals to be loud and clear and my sub doing all the work for the bass i just want my car loud and idk what to do?

usually you'll have to rewire the whole system to get past the fiber optic. If you have a fiber optic it usually means you have a bose or harmon system. I'd check first to see if you have that system in your car. Should be able to look in your trunk and see if you have an amp or not. If you do heres what most do.
Locate your amp and see what speaker wires run to which speaker. Then splice the wires from the wire harness in the trunk and run them into a 4 channel amp. Then run the 4door speakers and the tweeters into another 4 channel and finally the subwoofer into a Mono block amp.
As for the 6.5 speakers, some 6.5 speakers fit and some dont. To make sure they fit you can go to crutchfield.com and put in your vehicle and see if the speakers fit. I know Focal 6.5" components dont fit our cars. Luckily my Polk Audio 6.5" did. You can get them to fit but you might have to trim some of the door. If the 6.5" do fit they might be too deep and you dont have enough room in the door.

1st of all... thats one big *** woofer, guess you dont care about trunk space. 2nd, that amp should have no problem picking up that woofer if adjusted properly. Those alpine speakers are a lil too big. depth of available space in our cars is 1.5" those type s are 2.5" depth on them. link below shows you dimmensions.

the fiber optic is bypass / eliminated when you installed a new head unit and amps; all they have to do is run the wires to the amps and from the amps to the speakers. A lot of wiring.
I am running 6.5 component set up front and they are the FOCAL brand ( a custom ring was made to fit those babies on the doors) the OEM ring that hold the speakers was removed to accommodate the custom ring.
it almost sounds like they do not know much about installing sound systems or just don't want to do the install. Or maybe they are too lazy to do the job or realized that the quote they gave you was too low for the amount of work that needs to get done to get everything working.

thanks yall....ima see if i can sell the alpines and go with polk since my amp is....but does this car really have fiber optics? & can my amp stop working if the sub requires 750 rms and my amp is 500rms @2ohm and 300 @ 4ohm

the car has fiber optics but when you put a new headunit/amp you bypass them. you run the speaker wires from your old amp to your new one (cut the wires from stock amp harness) then connect your headunit to your amp using rca's.
i just finished my entire audio setup this weekend (keeping stock bose speakers) and it BUMPS!

did you run the sub wire to the mono amp and cut the wire from the stock amp. If that doesnt work you can do a high/low converter but you shouldnt need that since you have an OEM sub and amp.

To tell you right now, that shop knows what they're doing.ask them about what they did in sean's kleemann c55. I have tons of advice for you, but that shop is right,i don't think you're understanding them Correctly. That 15 is gonna sound like @$$ in that car. 1 12 in a sealed enclosure would have done the job and more
