Got a letter from my dealer today...

The service department wrote and apologized for overcharging me.
They discounted my repairs $200 (off of a $660 repair bill), voided the previous credit card transaction, and charged me the cheaper total of $460.
Made my evening. First time I ever got a "we charged you too much" letter.
They usually always discount 15% on my service orders...this was definitely above and beyond.
Thumbs up for Schumacher European.

They also diagnosed another failed Sirius radio tuner (which Sirius bricked remotely with 3 software updates over the phone with me the week before).
Used Sirius tuner is on it's way via eBay right now, which I will be installing and activating this weekend (hopefully).
Off topic: I still can't believe Mercedes wants $1250 for a satellite radio tuner...found it for $300 on eBay.

That said, sometimes I don't like to swallow the parts costs.
I'd still rather drive a Mercedes over anything else.

I took my car in for Service B, but didn't need the oil change yet, and the service manager said there were so few miles, he would just do a Service A. But, I got new tires last fall, and wanted them rotated, which is a Service B item. So, I got home, noticed the tires hadn't been rotated, and rescheduled.
I returned 5 days later, and they rotated the tires and checked the brakes. I got a bill with a big fat "$0.00" on it! They said it was free because I had to drive in again--I live about 40 miles away. I know that it's not a lot to get tires rotated, but still--to be at the dealer for an hour and come home without a bill is, to say the least, unusual.
On top of that: 4 years ago, I traded in my old C230 on a CPO C280 4Matic, and they were offering a 1.99% interest rate, so I took that instead of paying cash (I was making 2-3% in my savings account, so I figured it was a few extra dollars in my pocket). But, since then, I'm no longer making even that amount of interest, so I decided to pay the car off. Sent them a check and got this back a few weeks later (overpayment reimbursement)! Don't know if anyone else will find it funny to get a check for $1 from MB Financial Services, but I've got it on my bulletin board and it just makes me laugh when I see it.
The only service experience I've had to date was when they installed my adjustable camber kit;
One dealer quoted me over $550. The other $350. I consulted that the exact same work was involved, and I was told the former dealer charges extra for the wheel alignment whilst the second dealer includes it in the camber upgrade.
After I got the work done, the car still pulled left. I asked the 'technician' why its still pulling left, and he told me it can only be the tires. I took it to the Jaguar/Alfa/Ferrari/Lambo/Maserati/Austin-Martin/Land-Rover dealer I bought the car from, and they used the new camber adjusters to get my alignment perfect. MB didn't get my wheel alignment right. Maybe that's why they charged $350 instead of over $550
.PS
The MB Dealer did give me some MB mints and they found a sample shampoo bottle which the previous owner must have dropped under the seats.
