You sure are!!! I'll PM you pretty soon. I know which parts I'm goin' to get, I'm just checking out to see if that site has components to fix my light too. You're the best!!! I was scared to ask anyone on this site, I didn't want to be a bother but since you brought it up..
I can't tell you yet.. are thos 19" rims? I just picked up some new winter tires and am going to use my old oem rims for the next few months.. then when spring rolls around we'll see what I decide on. I currently have 17" rims for my summer tires but might be going to 18" if I can afford new ones!
ALSO I got my new clear side blinkers in the mail! woot. After I get a couple of the other things I'm waiting for, I'll update with more pics for sure.

Np, im not in a rush to sell them, and yes they are 19s
I'll give you all the details when the time comes.
Sigh...I cant believe there may actually be snow this time next month for us.
Do you ever come down to Calgary? If you do, Infected and I are more than happy to meet up. Not that many W203 enthusiasts here

Well, she told me she got the parts yesterday. Now we'll have to see how long it takes to install everything. sandvich_girl, you're on the clock.

The older c230 coupes seems to be a dying breed.. but I love mine and did some upgrading this weekend. I'm just going to leave these here...
New side markers, side mirror blinkers, fog lights, grille, and fixed my intermittent passenger bixenon (well seems to be working fine so far at least..)
Hope you like!
OH and SPECIAL THANKS to Tommy for your help... you're the best.

I'd wholeheartedly agree!
Actually, sg did send me something, which was really nice, not expected, and really not necessary (though I will gladly use it shortly!). I only relabelled the package and sent it along its merry way, which was not a big deal.
Car's looking very good with the updates, btw. She's been here a fraction of the time that most others here have been, and has done more modding than most. Shame on you other people!

Thanks I was thinking of you and infected this weekend since I was in Calgary for a spur of the moment halloween party, but it was too last minute to plan anything and I don't have anyones contact info. lol
Thanks!! I feel like there's not too much interest in coupes anymore. Sounds like most people are getting to the point where they're getting rid of theirs.
Well I gotta catch up to the rest of you coupe enthusiasts! Also I gotta get everything done before it snows because that's when I curl up in my cave and hibernate.

Reviving my old thread!
Love my car... but it looks like the problems are starting to roll in...
-Today I spent a couple hours looking at my headlight. My passenger side BiX stopped working again! It hasn't been working for a week now. I checked the wiring and everything, changed bulbs.. no luck..This is the same light I had trouble with last year which I thought I fixed it. WHY ME
-I had erratic engine issues in the spring. They went away but I think it's only because its currently summer and the weather is warm. I've been noticing that the colder it is outside, the higher the tendency for an erratic start. This all began after taking my car in for maintenance servicing. I brought it back and the garage didn't know what the problem was and had no clue how to fix it. They then went on to change the spark plugs and overcharged me for it, and that didn't help at all.
-Got the dreaded alternator/battery warning light as I was leaving out of town a couple days ago. Weird thing is it only came on for like, a couple minutes and it went away. Nothing has shown up since and my car is still driving. I'm trying to drive it less right now and I'm looking into possible fixes to do myself before bringing it in.. looks like it's going to probably be an expensive fix though from what I've read so far!!
Love my car, looks great, drives great, but it seems like I'm going to have to put some money, time and work into it. Not the best time right now but I guess there's never a good time. Links and suggestions welcome. I've been searching my *** off for some solutions regarding the engine but have had no luck. For the battery/alternator issue I need to borrow a voltage meter to check the voltage first and then I guess we'll go from there!

welcome back...
the light is probably the ballast going out. switch the bulb to the other side to see if it works. if the bulbs both work, then it should be the ballast.
engine problem. you can check with the dealership to see if your car has all the recalls done. you probably want to add some fuel injector cleaner if you haven't done that before. dirty valve can cause some cold start rough idles.
battery. did it show up on a hot day with a/c on full blast? your battery might probably be on the way out. get the voltage checked at local autozone etc. they usually can check it for you.

If you"re lucky, it's just the battery; otherwise, it'll be the alternator - I just had mine (the alt) replaced for the second time this past spring, though I don't remember it being a particularly common issue.
Good luck! Welcome back - don't be such a stranger.

@FrankW I'm pretty sure after inspecting the headlight over and over again, and swapping the bulbs out the ballast is the main problem.
I am looking to see if there is a cheaper solution.. I'm seriously considering getting a HID converter kit instead. I saw that theretrofitsource had a kit with good reviews. Of course then I'm assuming I'd have to just swap out both headlights so the lighting would be the same no? I see a ton of websites with less expensive kits (also slimmer ballasts).. any other recommended brands of kits?
Thanks
Hey tommy! Hows it going? I'm really hoping it's just a battery issue. Right now my car is ripped apart so I can't bring it anywhere to be checked out. You had to replaced the alternator TWICE?? yikes. If I check the voltage and it's fine, does that mean that it's definitely an alternator issue? Or do you suggest I keep on driving until I get the warning light again? It hasn't come on since that one time, and I've started my car and driven it at least 6 times after that occurred. :S

Couldn't an aftermarket kit be installed and spliced into the existing bulbs somehow?
I mean take the aftermarket ballast etc. and replace the stock expensive crap?

it can be done but you'll have to figure out and test the harness and see what runs what. with OEM ballasts they usually use a harness that plugs into the ballast. Like this MB ballast

So I made the mistake of buying a "refurb" ballast from some ebayer.
Took the car apart, put ballast in, woohoo looks like it's working, put car back together. After driving for a couple of minutes, non stop flickering. I'm thinking DAMN IT WHY WON'T THIS THING JUST WORK.
So I'm going to just buy a brand new OEM Ballast.
Can anyone suggest a reliable site to purchase this from? Or know of anyone selling one?
EDIT* Guess I should add, I'm hoping to not have to pay a ridiculous amount (like over $300) for a brand new unit.

Good to see you post in your build thread again, finally.
Too bad you didn't post sooner - I'll be up in Toronto on Sunday, and could have bought from one of the US places, brought it up with me, and then mailed it over.
Still, if you want me to do something like last time, let me know.
Might want to PM infected or I_C_Class and see if they have any idea on local places.
This is why I dumped my HIDs as soon as the initial ballasts died, just a PITA that keeps rearing its ugly head. Good luck, though.
We'll look forward to another response from you in 3 - 4 months.

Hi Tommy!!
Hey I'm still here! I've just been more of a lurker the past little bit. I haven't really had any plans to mod anything so that's why I don't update my thread really. So far it's just been problem after problem that I'm trying to figure out and fix. It doesn't help that it's all mucky here too, melty and dirty snow.
Cool do you visit toronto regularly? Are you there for work or what? Thanks for your offer I'm still searching for the right price! I'll pm you if I need to bug ya
Hi Capn,
Nope haven't had plans to do the dual exhaust. I don't know if I'm going to be putting any more moola into modding this car. I love it the way it is. I may be selling it next season though.. I'll see. Not a great car in the winter. I have blizzaks, awesome tires overall, but going uphill from a stop I've already had to get some strangers to push me out since the rear wheels just spin on ice.
Lol at the cheese grater grille. I love cheese so that works fine for me! two birds in one stone.
