Lost 1/4 mile after new battery?
The strangest thing happened when I changed my battery on Saturday night. I didn't get any ESP errors, but I did have to synch the windows and sunroof. Also, my "since reset" trip computer was reset - figure that is normal. Radio retained the presets, even!
I use the master trip computer (the one on the same screen as the odometer reading) to monitor my mileage each month. I reset on the 1st day of every month. No particular reason, just for my own information. Anyway, when I parked the car to change the battery the trip odometer said 797.5 and the odometer said 118,177. After the new battery was hooked up the main odometer still read the correct 118,177 but the trip odometer said 797.0.
Is this normal? Never had that happen on any previous cars.

Nope, I assure you, this has actually happened. When I reset the trip odometer to 0.0 on September the 1st, the master odometer was not in synch. Every time the trip turned to X.9, the master odometer would add a mile. Typically I am OCD and synch these, but this month I was off and it was continuously bugging me. Well, now it is adding a mile every time it is at X.4.
My car lost 1/2 a mile.. so it is automatically younger.

It only would happen if the trip computer was not already at .0. After the first reset, it would not continue to lose anything.
