High pitch 'buzz' in cruse control breaking

Question High pitch 'buzz' in cruse control breaking
Does anyone else get this;

When your cruise control system breaks automatically (i.e when your cruising downhill) the system does a high pitch squeal. Not overly laud, but enough to be noticed by driver and passengers.

Best way to describe it is when your ears ring after a laud concert or if you have tinnitus.

Only occurs when the system is breaking... not when you apply the breaks yourself.

The W203, at least in USDM guise, does not brake for you. At least mine doesn't. It will downshift to shave off speed. Maybe you're hearing a whine from the driveline?

Mine makes the same noise, and I can confirm my 07 absolutely applies the brakes when the cruise in engaged going downhill.

Don't know if it is normal, as mine has done it since new. The sound in mine is very faint, so it has never concerned me. Hope some others chime in.
