W203 C350 Sport 06 Rear brakes
Need rear brakes to pass inspection in PA. Checked on RM Euorpean site and see variation in prices for pads and rotors. I want to go with Pagid pad set for pricing. However, do you get what you pay for? Textar or Tex Ceramic seem middle of the road. Does it matter? I noticed some of the forum members use Akebonos but they are more expensive. Is it worth it? Same for the rotors. Any response is appreciated

Jurid's are OEM. Akebono's are great, very low dust. I don't believe the rear pads are that expensive to begin with and they last a very long time, not something to try to save some money on. I would go with Jurid, Pagid or the Akebono's.
Get the OEM rotors, they're zinc coated, high quality and not too expensive.

I think I heard that you should change from regular pads to ceramic on new rotors rather than the old rotors. Does that make sense?

Okay, mission accomplished on my rear brake job. Passed PA inspection, no problem. One thing when I left, it still was giving me a warning, " Brake worn, see workshop." The sensor was popping up before I had the work done. Now that the work is done, it pops up only when I start. I hit the "up" control on the steering wheel and the message goes away, never to return. I barely tap the brakes and I am stopping on a dime. The mechanic told me he put back the sensor so it should go away. He said I could bring it back to correct it if this continues. I hope this isn't electrical. What do you guys think?

if you're still getting the error, one of the sensors still need to be replaced. Depending on year, there are multiples. I believe for 06, it is on the front passenger and rear passenger caliper.

The guy at RMEuropean suggested I get the sensor but I passed. Geez, didn't know they go bad as well. Will give them a call. Thanks, man

Once the sensors are tripped they must be replaced. If you check your pads regularly, you can zip tie them somewhere else and not insert them into the pad so you never have to replace them again.
