Hey everyone, I was just wondering which car is better the A4 or the sports sedan. The A4 has front wheel drive and the Benz has rear wheel. i just want some imputs from you guys. What do you think >? ........J

They are both excellent cars and priced well. It would be a tough decision for anyone. I can tell you that personally I would choose the MB over the Audi only for logistical reason since the MB dealer is 1 mile away and offers MB loaners (the Audi dealer is 20 miles away and offers rental cars for services) and the MB dealer offers free full service car washes ($11.99 at the local car wash). I always liked the A4 but I'm not happy with the latest car, looks like a shruken A6 but it's still a very nice car. Also the Audi can be chipped for some serious power and the MB doesn't really have much in the way of performance options.
Yea, I like the MB. It has alot for your buck, the Audi also. The only thing that was selling me with the Audi was the Quattro all-wheel drive. Is that really necessary ? Also, isn't the MB supposed to be really stable and have good traction in like rain, etc.... ? That is a big issue down in Florida, where the weather is always changing. My prevous BMW had excellent traction, not only in the rain but in "performance moves" (everyday driving to me). could the weight distrabution have anything to do with that BMW= 50.9:49.1 (front:rear). MB 57:43. Let me know . 4matic or Quattro ????????

best thing is to testy drive both during rain... I have the hatch version and it handles very good in rain though a bit hard on snow.
if you're only thinking about the fwd A4 1.8T then the answer is easy, C230k sport is much more fun. But if the A4 is quattro then I'd probably pick the A4. with similar equipement, they should only have maybe $1k difference in price. As for which is better, you are your own judge. everyone has different opinion.

Well at least the 3.0 CVT is! The Audi feels "lighter" and sportier. I prefer a "heavy" car though myself. I would say save up a few extra$$$ and get the 3.0, I LOVE it! It also helps that I just got 19's on it too.... Well anyways, get the benz if you prefer a classier "heavy" car or the Audi if you want "lighter"and sportier.

If you live someplace the weather makes it where a rear wheel drive car isn't a good idea then get the Audi. But I personally wouldn't buy the FWD Audi if I had a choice, but the 1.8t is a better powerplant for power. If weather doesn't play much of a part in the decision I would get the Mercedes.

I didn't think about that. The Audi is made to a higher quality than the new c-class. Everyone I know with the new c-class is always taking it in to get fixed. I retract my earlier statement and would go with the Audi.Originally posted by enri007

Don't know if it matters to you, but when I looked last fall, one couldn't buy the 1.8 with leather. Simply wasn't an option. This is key for me with the kiddies in and out of the car all the time.
I'd say buy the benz - and this is a very unbiased opinion, because in about 3 years I'd like to be drving the new RS4.

True. If weather wasn't a factor I'd go with a rear wheel, but if it is Audi AWD is the way to go.

Drive them both, then decide.
For me, the MB 1.8Kompressor is much more responsive when running with the A/C on (which is 7-8 months out of the year for me). My wife's Passat (1.8T - same engine as Audi) has adequate power, but it takes a considerable amount of throttle to get it going in the summer. It just doesn't feel like it's producing the kind of power that it is.
The Benz definitely feels tighter than the Audi, but if mods and max power are more your thing, then there are far more options available with the Audi.
Both rides are great cars, so drive'em both, then decide.
