What should I do?

Ok guys here the deal. My c230 is an 03 with about 180xxx on it. Now may question is should I spend about 1800 on rims for her .Or just plasti dip the factory wheels an drive her to she blow up lol! Just think that this car current value probably is around $3000 give or take. Thanks for any advise!

If you really want the rims and think they are worth the price, get them. And if/when you get another car you can transfer the rims over, should you choose to do so.

I would not spend $1800 for something cosmetic on my 2005 C230 with 124k miles at this point. It just isn't worth it anymore. Save that money in case you run into a problem as those problems become increasingly likely as miles pile on.

What wheels lol heres my thoughts, get the wheels and keep them till your car goes then you have the option to sell the wheels or buy another mb to slap the wheels on lol

It depends. If your car made it to 180, it'll probably make it to 250. So if you're going to wait for it to go boom, you might be in for a while (or not, of course).

As phister said, you could always sell the rims down the line. Though $1,800 is on the high side, especially if that's rims only. You'd be losing at least 1/3 that as soon as you take them out of the box.

I guess it depends, too, on where that $1,800 leaves you financially. If you spend $1,800 on rims tomorrow and then next week your alternator goes out and takes the A/C compressor with it.. can you still afford to fix it?

If you can, then maybe listen to the guys who say buy the rims. If not, you should probably listen to me and save that money for a rainy day in W203 land.

Yes, I like a stock look. If I had $1800 to spend right now on my car I'd do a lot of maintenance - refresh the front suspension, motor mounts, etc. How it runs and drives to me is much more important than how it looks.

Thanks guys you all have some good points. I have bad buyers remorse over high dollar purchases. I would like to keep this thing running for another five years for my son first car. Then I love the interior of the 05 c classes. Plus 1800 would be an great down payment on an e55 !

You can always think of it this way too - By now your car is paid off, so that 1800.00 would be how many car payments? If you spend that, are happy with the results and keep the car at least that much longer, then why not do it.

Of course, as mentioned before, I'm assuming it is disposable income and that it won't put you in a bind for other things and investments and such are all covered.

If you want 5 more years out of it then you'd probably be best served by $1800 in preventative maintenance over the next year than rims.

Ml63 wheel isn't an bad idea either on the ml. Adding the wheel sensors seem like an headache.
