Happy 10th Birthday

Mfg. date, 12/2001.
Washed, and detailed the inside, cleaned the mats, replaced speaker grill
on drivers side door (for like the 10th time), broke bolt off door panel in process (one behind the SRS emblem....damn, forgot it was there).
Runnin an lookin' good for a 10 year old car with 182K miles on her.Except for the 2 dents.

I forget - did you have the bump in the panel before the sunroof from the factory, or aftewards, when it had been replaced under warranty?
Sammy, you've got issues.

Glyn, I have to ask, is that a real sign, & if so, what the hell is it for?

Mine's birthday came and went, but this year it should get some nicities. I just replaced both cloth A-pillar covers because they were wrinkled.
I don't like to think about how young she is and the things I have done to her
Build date of 4-01 and delivery date 05-26-2001 to first owner btw 5-26 is my b day

My baby's gettin' new plugs probably this weekend. They came in today.
After a long internal and external debate, I'm
going with good old copper, just like the F1 teams.
NGK V-Power BKR7E 4644 Plugs.
It's what Subby on benzworld runs in his SLK with M111 engine, with
lots of extra boost, only plugs that work on his. He has M62 supercharger with
smaller pulley AND larger crankshaft pulley.
I had been running the NGK 2 steps cooler Iridium IX's but they seem to crap out prematurely.
#2 crapped out at less than 30K. Misfires, new coilpack didn't fix it. Twice!
Replaced #2 spark plug with 5 heat range plug I had laying around, problem solved.
They put a strain on the coil packs, and cause them to blow out.
The other option the IFR6D10's are just ridiculously priced.
IDK Denso's are generally considered to be crap,
and my current 7 heat range plugs are the correct color on the ceramic so
I know I'm in the right heat range.
So, I'll just replace these every 30K miles at a massive cost of $10 a set including tax and
delivery. Leaving plugs in for a long time isn't a good idea as in the IFR6D10's for like 100k miles.
I had mine get stuck after 50k. Took a bit of doing to get them out.
You gotta turn them a little spray liquid wrench down, and turn 'em back, little by little they come out.
Do it wrong and strip the thread out of the head, or break the plug in the cylinder.
Lastly per my indy guy, put a drop of tranny fluid on the threads when you install.
Any tranny fluid will do.
Well how much longer will she keep going?
I've been holding off on replacing the hatch, massive dent back there.
But she's running strong. Interior is good, leather shows a little wear, but I
do the leather with Lexol every couple months to keep it supple.
Showing her years a little bit hear and there.
Buying someone else s car means dealing with all the deferred maint.
most people don't do.
There's a 2002 coupe on ebay with a train air horn.
What an idiot!
