Exclamation I am giving InstallUniversity.com a face lift. Need opinions

I am redoing the layout on the repair guides for the W203. Here is a link to the updated Power Steering Fluid doc.

http://www.installuniversity.com/mb/w203/w203/ps.html

What do you think about the new multipage install document and the mouse over photo effect?

I am going to more pages to reduce load time on the browser since I am having to load higher resolution images for the mouse over effect.

Also, any other opinions you may have regarding site navigation. The site is growing a bit since we picked up a Lexus so I had to do some redesigning and I want to make sure I get it right.

Let me know. Your opinion matters.

TIA

Cool. Did not know about the website before. Good work!
Not sure about the mouse over effect. Only because sometimes one may want to print off the picture to take with them to campare while working. The bigger the better.
Either way, thanks for doing this.

Looks pretty good.

I've actually been using Installuniversity for quite a few years for stuff for my Camaros and TransAms. Very helpful site.

Keep up with the good work!

Well done Eric Always a helpful site. Only suggestion I would make would be to add some community interaction, like comments and such. That way if someone follows your steps and has some added tips that could help others, they could post it.

PS: Dig the big Apple header image

Thanks for responding! I am glad the site is still useful, especially to the F Body's!

Let me get another opinion. I am trying to decide what size photo is just right when you mouse over a photo.

http://www.installuniversity.com/mac...l-drive-3.html

Mouse over photo's on that page and let me know what you think. Those are 1000 px in the largest dimension. I think that is a good compromise but I am working off of a 27" iMac so it is hard for me to say.

I am glad you noticed the Apple header. I have started putting up repair guides for Apple stuff as well.

I have thought about this. I had a forum a while back and that didn't do well but comments at the bottom of each page may be the ticket. I'll look into this. Thanks!

I like the idea of the mouse over photos but is it possible to have them automatically centered on the page instead of follow the cursor? I find I need to scroll down to have the photo near the top right corner in order for me to mouse over and see the full picture.

I have struggled with this exact situation myself on my 11" MacBook Air. Can you share your screen resolution?

Try this link and let me know what you think about the mouse over position. The only other option I can do is to do the "click the photo" option to bring it up in a light box. I find that way not convenient for the user.

Ah, I see what you did there. To be honest, between the two, the original version is probably better. It just seems to make more sense to me to have the picture go downwards than to go up. Nicely done!
