ESP/BAS Malfunction
I know many of os have had this problem, so I wanted to report my experience. The dealership thought it was a bad brake light switch (as they have had some experience with this as the cause) but when I got it in to them for service yesterday, they found that it wasn't. It turns out there is a group of three-wires that can corrode fairly easily and that was the culprit. They said there is a TSB on this from MB, so for those of you who have been unable to get your problem resolved with your dealer , have them check this out.
Hope this helps.

What's a TSB?
More commonly, though, it's a Technical Service Bulletin.
