Do Akebono EUR872 Brake Pads come with Sensors, too?

Been reading about Akebono brake pads as the ones to get. Also reading that they include the brake sensors. Don't want to buy sensors extra if I don't need to.

Specifically looking at the EUR872 set for the front axle of my C320 (two sensors req'd). Can someone clarify if this set includes the sensors? I understand the EUR1121 pads have sensors, but my older ride uses the EUR872. If the sensors are dependent on where you buy the pads, which seller do I go to. Thanks.

MBParts Online doesn't have a photo of the "kit" to show whether the sensors are included. On several other MB Akebonos, photos show they do...

when I bought my Akebono brakes, no sensors were included so I had to order a set.

Why not send akebono an email but I don't think they do. I did see that amazon had some good prices a few weeks ago might want to check them out.

MB-BOB,

I bought my pads from Tirerack and they did not come with the sensor, a quick trip to good ol Autozone and 8 or 9 bucks later I had the correct sensor. I took the old one with me so I would get the correct sensor - I had a friend of mine who went to get a sensor without bringing the old one for reference and they totally gave him the wrong part.

Good Luck!

Mine didn't come with a sensor when I ordered my pads for the C32 brakes from Tirerack.

A smart thing to do would be to order the pads, and if they don't come with the sensors, but the sensors separately.

yea the sensors are pretty cheap, but it is annoying having to order them. Ask your trusted body shop to order you a set for wholesale price, that's what I did and installed them myself.

Now that's an idea...

As I read more about these, I just come up with more questions, as usual... The latest... Are each of these pads drilled for the sensor? Again, my C320 has sensors on all four wheels, so I need the front pads to have the holes, and the bracket on each that clips the sensor in place.

Yes, by now, I'd assume that they know what is required for each application. You could always call Luke directly at TR; he's very helpful.

Like Tommy said, all the pads have the small hole to insert the sensor in.

Hi Bob - got your PM - No Akebono pads sold in SA. All I have seen have the sensor cutaway unlike some aftermarket pads. Your car is like my old 2003 240. 4 sensors!

amazon has your pads for 59 dollars. and sensors for like 7 a piece. it doesn't say if the pads come with, so I would assume not, and if they do, return the other ones.

Akebono do come with the sensors but those are not the right one for MB. At least didnt fit mine CLK when i bought it so i have to go to dealer and get those for like $12 i think.

Bob,

Did your sensor go off and give you a warning?

That can be fixed if you want to.

Otherwise no brake pads I know off come with sensors. Too much hassle as it would be model specific.

MB-BOB!

Seems this thread has already covered just about every possible scenario.
Like M-bENZ, mine came with ‘sensors’ that didn’t fit.

Best get some before scheduling the installation. PN = 211 540 17 17

The akebonos for my facelift C230 with the 13" brakes came with sensors. I know becuase the ones that I ordered, thinking the pads didn't come with the, are sitting on the shelf in my garage.
