why seat module keeps COMMAND and OCP awake constantly
Hello Gentlemen,
Why does driver seat module keeps COMAND and OCP awake constantly draining the batter at 1.45A?
Passenger seat module does not cause it but only driver's.
Should I replace the seat module or is the problem elsewhere?

The problem is the seat modules not going to sleep & keeping the CANBus alive.
There is much about this seat module problem on the forum. You will find a repair in a thread by TemjinX2 or you can simply replace the bad seat module with an updated one.

Thank you for your comment. Replacing the seat module is easier for me than digging further as I already spent 5 weeks learning all about it.
I have seen the fix but i do not like it. Primarily because there are too many opinions on whether the fix will hold memory or not.
Although on the contrary while working on a drain I have had the car without battery for hours and the driver's seat memory still holds and remembers after the battery reinstall, so may be the fix is OK.
I am lost on the final, decent answer on the "fix". … so perhaps new s.module for me.

The older modules were known for giving trouble. I would replace it.
There are two common causes of battery drain. Front seat modules failing & not going to sleep & the A/C sniffer fan in the overhead console not going to sleep.

How to disconnect fan in the OCM?
Hi all,
I've experienced the power drain also and I've whittled it down to the A/C sniffer fan in the overhead console not going to sleep - primarily due to the information on here!
How do you disconnect the fan? I've had the unit out and pulled out the connectors but the one where the fan is wired into also controls the power for the lights etc. so I want to snip the wire for the fan only... any diagrams or explanations of how do to this?
Thanks,
Rob

I have the same problem with battery drain on my 02 C240. AC temp sensor fan in Dome light continues to run nonstop. Has anybody found a way to fix the problem? Tried to switch out 2 used assemblies with same result. Was told by a Benz tech that the HAC push button was the source. ????
