Please enjoy the photos as much as I did taking them. - your comments/questions are welcome and appreciated.
So this week I took the w203 with my wife and another family member visiting for a trip down Australia's South West. This is the first big trip in the w203 and it handled quite well. But the non-city-smooth road surfaces did bring out all the rattles the w203 is sometimes reported to have.![nix](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/nixweiss.gif)
The w203 for me is more of a city car. My last car, Holden Caprice, was more of a long distance cruzer. I think and E class would have been a bit better for long distance. But am I complaining? NO, just a comment. I would still rather drive my w203 than my previous Holden
.
Anyways, here are some pics of the open road. No, I wasnt holding the camera when driving, it was a mounted iPhone.

Typical Australian car. Holden Commodore. I owned 2, but older models, in my time.

My w203 next to another famous Aussie car, in fact, there is a lot of competition to the Holden Commodore and this Ford Falcon.

Nice pictures ... I forgot how nice the star emblem is ... I've switched mine out to the flat emblem. Looks like it was a fun trip!

Great pics - thanks for posting them. Hoping to get to Australia myself in the next year or two; haven't been there since my family returned to the States when I was 6 mo old, 45 years ago. ![EEK!](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)
I'm doing the San Diego to SF drive over the next week; hope to have weather like it looks like you did.
That spider pic gives me the *******.

Holy Frijoles.. Why did you have to post a picture of the spider?! I nearly passed out.
Interesting that you find the W203 to be more of a city car. I don't find it a pleasing city car. From Feb 1. to Feb 29. I drove my C230 2,725 miles. It loves the open road.
Our cars look a lot alike.. they're aging very well.

BEAUTIFUL PICTURES OF AUSTRALIA!!! The w203 is a great car for road trips. I plan on taking mine across the southwest part of the United States sometime in August. I took it across the southeast U.S. last year.
Thanks for sharing the photos!![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Very comfortable for long journeys. Our Prime Minister still has this model as the state-car.
But overall, I really prefer the Mercedes. Feels a lot more refined and precise.

Awesome pictures!!
I love your country btw. I spent 3 weeks there in Jan. Did a road trip from Melbourne to Bondi Beach in a buddy's Holden Ute. Had some crazy adventures along the way, in an equally crazy car.

Thanks for the 'wild west' photos .
Higher profile tyres would make the car feel better on the rougher country roads. Make the suspension last longer too.

Yes - the Holdens may be crude in implimentation but they are fine cruisers!

16 inch wheels & 55 profile tyres are far better for bad roads.

Will look you up if you are in town.
