Your dealer knows it.

Matt,

My car doesn't have color handles. Ordered that from Steve. But Euro version doesn't have the hole for passenger side IR receiver. Dealer doesn't know the part number if I don't C7. I tried before. I just need the passenger side end piece. Hope someone can help.

Go look around on their lot for a car with the part that you want, then give them the VIN from that car and they will be able to find it.

In europe we don't have the IR receiver on the passenger side of the W203 doorhandles...
the W209 uses the same handles as the W203 (sizewise) but these handleparts all have chrome...
the R230 uses the same sized handles as well but come with a silver strip...
the W211 has listed several partnumbers for the pass side endpiece of which some are listed to be US market parts...I wanted to order one of those numbered parts but at a price of 54 euro excl. VAT I figured I rather wait till I get to the states and sort me the partnumber out myself...

Your dealership partsguy shouldn't have any problem finding the partnumber...it is fairly easy to find in the EPC.

Steve,

I gave them my car's VIN and they said your car is not supposed to have color handles, we can not find the part number. I know it should be easy to find, but some people just don't want to try. That's why I'm looking for some help in here. I know people are much smarter here. Steve, do you think I will get an error message if the passenger IR receiver is not present?

Steve,

Do you think you can order the end piece for me when you come to the state? When you will be here next time? It will be great if I can order it from you.

no, you won't ...already installed 2 sets without the driver side IR...only thing that that IR does is opening/closing the windows from the key...kind of useless when the driver with the key gets out on the other side...

Steve helped me install mine a little while ago and I do not have the IR reciever either. No error message shows up and the only thing that it limits you to is that you cannot roll up your windows outside the car on the passenger side. I will eventually look around for one but for now I am just happy to have gotten rid of the nasty black handles.

Keep us updated on how it comes along Hint2!

DaBeze,

I find the part number for the passenger side end piece from this board. The part number is 203-766-03-35-9744. I hope this is correct part number. It is for silver. I will go to the local dealer, hope they will have it.
