Lug nuts/bolts rusted. Any ideas?

I have a 2005 c240 4matic with factory wheels and would like to replace the rusted lug nuts/bolts. I'm a little confused with all the types/shapes/sizes. I went to the Mercedes dealersership today and it would cost $209 to order a replacement set. Can I find them somewhere else for less money?

Convert to studs, then you'll never have to worry about lugbolts again.

We can probably get you any lug bolts that you need, we have quite a few options at this point. Please feel free to ask me anything and I will be happy to supply you a set at a price much less than what Mercedes Benz wants.

Thanks-
-Craig

Copied the wrong address from Google.

Sanding and painting lugs will not work at all, first tire rotation and the paint will chip off.

Don't you have a plating works near you that can zinc plate them properly for you.

15 minutes of your time and a $6 can of spray paint can go a long way. New ones will just rust over eventually. Either way...problem isn't going away unless you have them powdercoated, etc.

I've had Rad lugs on my car for 2 years and have zero rust issues.

If you're really that concerned about the rust, spray the bolt heads with Por15; the rust will be stopped and not come back. I'm thinking about doing it to my Honda lugnuts that I use on my car, which are getting a bit rusty.

powdercoating lug bolts is not recommended. the extreme heat required on baking the powder will make the bolts brittle and can lead to breaks.

my suggestion to OP: if you don't like the look of the rusted bolts. get the rust sand off and paint it with engine enamel paint that you can get from auto parts stores. yes, it'll chip eventually, but you can just repaint it.

Good points Frank. I have absolutely no experience with powder-coating. I just assumed it would hold up better than spray paint.

Either way, I'd still prefer the paint vs the galvanized appearance of the radusa lugs. Looks cleaner imo. I used dupli color caliper paint on mine.

There are chrome ones available on eBay for around $40. Anyone have any experience with them (quality)? Assuming you don't have any issues with the look of chrome wheel bolts...
