All in all, not the worst of bad habits. Unfortunately, I've got others!
Then again, it's an honor to be in such good company!

We took a drive in Mrs. NCMudbug's car tonight and we could see EVERYTHING! Mamma's happy and everybody knows when Momma ain't happy, nobody's happy. The one negative was that I was not able to lower them so they seem a bit high to me.

I forgot to mention that I could tell I was moving the adjustment when I was monkeying with the bulb and retaining ring. It didn't feel or sound like I was stripping any threads or teeth of any kind so I don't think anything's broken. Nobody flashed their lights at us tonight (it was a very short ride) so I'll plot and scheme how I might experiment (my bad habit creeping in...) on effecting an adjustment, but for now, everybody's happy!

Okay so changing the bulbs (I want to go down to 4300k factory) should be a piece of (fish)cake, then right? Even if you are clumsy by nature?

I've never changed a lamp in a Depo ~ only genuine BiX for friends & family. I'm sure there is little difference. I think it's easy as long as you are patient. I rate it slightly fiddly but that's all.

Just remember to wear some gloves (I am sure you have some around) so you don't get grease on them. Or you can wait for my next trip down south.

Yeah, Matt. it's not hard. Gloves (thin cotton or latex - not the type that come in a roll) would be fine. You'll need your dexterity. There are apparently two different mounting systems. The ebay page shows a spring clip type. My wife had a plastic retaining disk that was a bayonet latch. If you have that, it helps to mark the top so you know how to start it. The access is tight but it's not as bad as it looks. Be as gentle as possible fitting and latching the bulb in place. I felt some movement in mine and even though I never sensed that anything broke or any gears stripped, the adjusting mechanism may have problems.
Go for it. It'll be fine!

I should have done this before having them installed. Trey has tiny little hands and is used to working in tight spaces while wearing gloves so I may ply him with alcohol to do this for me as well on a GA trip. I'm really in no hurry, the lights perform great right now and originally I had planned to just wait until one of them gave trouble to do anything about it.

Do you do anything on your cars Matt apart from reach for your wallet?

Hmm. I installed the lip spoiler all by myself and it is on perfectly. Aside from that, no. I never even wash it by hand. I generally do not trust myself to do even the simplest of things to a car. Every time I attempt it something goes horribly wrong and ends up broken.

This works well I have found out. As the C230 crests 140,000 this week, even its automatic car wash life doesn't show - John Anderson can testify to that, he's seen it in person.

Sorry, I missed this. You need to use the adjustment screws to aim the headlights. Using a flathead screw driver, carefully turn the adjustment screws on the tops of the headlight lenses till the beams lift up. They lift slowly. Be very careful! If you turn too much you'll separate the screw and they'll be permanently aimed high

I'd PROMISE him alcohol AFTER he finished the job. You don't want him drunk while he's monkeying with your lights!
