actually some are OEM, some be used but they guarantee no DOA. just type in w203 MAF in the ebay search and make sure the part number they supply is the one you need.

i personally lean towards OEM but aftermarket are required to meet OEM specs, so its all up to you. I've used the less expensive aftermarket parts before without any problems.

So basically they both work the same, but it all comes down to fitment. ?
I'm comparing the pic of the aftermarket one with the the original from a DIY thread. It looks more identical that the oem replacement version...

yes the techron works, use it every 3000 miles. if you go to autozone they sometimes have a buy 1 get 1 free sale going on. [

Cleaning the MAF is probably the way to go if you're not getting a code. I replaced all my engine and transmission mounts at 132k and it did make a difference. I plan to replace the flex discs pretty soon, also something you should consider.

Ultimately this is the reality that you and I and anyone else who keeps these cars as they age will face. Do we seemingly constantly spend a few hundred here and there on keeping them in perfect order, does there come a point where we keep up general maintenance but let go of the idea of perfect, or do we simply buy something new?

I'm not sure what the answer is for me in the long term. In the short term I'm keeping things as close to perfect as possible. It ain't easy or cheap, and I have pretty cheap labor rates!

Haha no I do not enjoy working on cars, I always break things or have parts leftover. Are you local to me, though? If so I can make a recommendation.

I would go with RMEuropean. That's where I bought mine.

The flex discs are rubber mounted discs in the drive-shaft, 2 per car.

With the MAF just make sure it has the correct part number. On the black plastic cover. VW/Audi MAFs look identical but won't work on a Benz.

Make sure that the SC wastegate controller is behaving. You would get a code.

As Matt said many posts back. Do a throttle reset to get the TPS & throttle plate synchronised. Nothing is worse than chasing low power when in fact the throttle is not opening properly.

ok guys, i finally purchased my new maf. i ended up opting for oem. VDO seimens for $235 plus tax at bma autoparts. great deal for oem.

quick question, since i'm going to have to remove the airbox, is there anything around that area that would also need replacing? common hoses that go bad.? so before i take it to the shop i would loveto have additional parts ready for them to replace...
