I think if you just call up VIS directly, and you happen to live in the SoCal area, you can get a better deal if you just go pick it up. I had no idea anyone made CF for the C... Personally I wouldn't get it, but I'd love to see what it looks like!

Oh yeah, VIS is supposedly one of the better CF manufacters (not an opinion I got from the ebay website; from my earlier days in a RSX... :p )

I'm not sure what the exact weight reduction is but I can surely tell you its gonna reduce it by a signifcant amount...

VIS makes good hoods... they don't turn yellow with age like the cheaper made ones and aren't thin...

It should be significant. Most cars go from 60ish (OEM) to 15ish(CF).

If you have a black car, it's not too noticeable unpainted. But yeah, even if you paint it, you still save lots of weight.

i doubt getting a CF hood will really increase performance on your car, so getting it and painting would be sort of dumb...

Dont you have the C coupe? this is a different hood, its for the sedans. I am VERY surprised no one has ever made one for the coupe.

My ricer son says they will make a coupe CF hood for us, probably $400. Not for me yet, but some people could cut 40 pounds off. They can also do CF front fenders.

I might be interested in fenders. How can I get in contact with your son?

No you just reuse what you had on your old hood. They did a very good job with it. The only thing you might need to do is drill 1 hole for the 3rd screw on the side but I didnt do it. Also, you need to figure out an alternate way to put up your hood since you cant use the hydrolic lift anymore. I just installed mine with a friend. Our stock hoods way much more than just 60lbs. I estimate over 100lbs. The VIS hood should be around 30lbs. It has a subframe and fiberglass undercarraige so its very strong. No need for hoodpins either because we have 3 latches for the hood.

I got it because I added a lot of weight from the Kleemann. With the CF hood it did help lighten the load. The front didnt feel as heavy with the stock hood and the Kleemann.
