Mercedes Xenon Programmer C-Class
Use this tool when installing (retro-fitting) HID Xenon headlights in the new C-Class (W203 Body) and the G-wagen (463 body).
This little handy tool actually programs the EIS (Electronic Ignition Switch) to recognize the new xenon system installed. without this programming, the information center in the speedometer will show "Check Light, Low beam R/L".
The new XENON system may not even work properly (Blink, Turn on/off) until programmed!!!
the effect is the same as taking the car to the dealer and programing the EIS with their STAR Tool. we do plenty of our own R&D to have an alternative to having the dealer program the car. "
This tool is perfect for install shops who do many Mercedes Benz XENON conversions.

tifosiv122: since you dont have your car "programmed" for xenons, you could take off the "special box" that hid4less installed, and them try to program your car with that and see if it will work. Then if it did, you could charge people $20 to change the setting for them to get your money back.
I would be very interested to see if that works. If it does then we could all get xenons and just get one of those, and change them whenever we needed to.

IMO, if you develope a program to change the settings, then you 'cracked' the code and you should be able to design software to access all the DAS features. Most ODBII programs are around $100-150..this just does the lights for over $80...

Lets get a list for him, if he can make a unit that can do:
COMAND MFD on/off
Phone present/not
Speed sensitve volume settings
COMAND tv in motion interlocks disable
Alarm setting to netherlands (for chirp)
recognize the new xenon system
This would be worth a couple of bills.

I'd go to $300...but $80+shipping just for lights is nuts.

I'm just curious if he has any references that we could be put into contact with to see if it really works?
Warning: We recommend that only serious hobbiests buy this system, as installation requires some advanced techniques such as removing the headliner to change the antenna. Also, the blank "TV" button cannot be activated by anyone without a STAR diagnostic computer. This means that after installing the NAV-TV System, you have to bring your car to a Mercedes dealer to have the TV button activated.

I noticed that on one of the pics that he has for the C-class TV tuner, there is no TV button (US) and he is watching TV on the system. There is some interesting stuff here...
greetingz,
........and have a STAR DAS system in their shop.
If they can activate it, where are the outputs for the tuner or the DVD player on the rear? I thought Steve, that you said that it was hard.
The hardest thing is to make the US tech believe (s)he can actually activate that blank button...
greetingz,
