When i accelerate above 85 mph racing someone , my car starts engaging traction control.. is this normal. Im not drifting just accelerating in a straight line. no spinning tires. when i turn off esp its fine... so in order to race i need esp off?

i had same problem, but mine would kick in after 2-3min driving at 80-85 mph or higher... and i had three different tire set ups including stock, did it in all three though the speeds at which it did it were fluctuating according to circumference.

imo you shouldnt be racing anyone illegally anyways... leave that stuff on the track. I use to do that foolish stuff back in the day, but as I've gotten older and seen people wrap lambos and other cars around trees in person I tell people to do it the legal way where theres safety workers around just in case something happens. You may never know when someone could cut in front of you in the highway since they dont expect someone to becoming by at 85-100mph or even pull out of the street not noticing you coming on.

Ivan ~ didn't you have a wheel sensor problem recently? All wheel sensors need to be OK.

If you are running standard tyres all round you will be OK. If rolling circumference difference between back & front exceeds about 4% it will trigger the ESP.
