C32 Coupe Available Here?
I thought this subject arose some time ago, but couldn't remember (or find) what the story was. If you don't know about it, you can check it out @: http://www.mercedes-benz.com/amg/e/c...nserie_c32.htm
I couldn't find any info on how to get one of these babies. Anyone know more details? Price, how to get one, etc? I'm quite puzzled as to why they wouldn't offer these with manuals, but I'm still jealous and think I want one since the hot laps.

The C32 Coupe is an AMG "Special." It's not mass produced by AMG for MB like the C32 sedan. To get a Special requires buying a Coupe from a European dealer and then sending it to AMG for the conversion, as you would do for a Brabus CV8, etc. This costs quite a bit more than simply picking up a C32 sedan from the dealer. It also gives the weird effect of having C32 Coupes with black door handles and cloth interiors, as the customer obviously purchased the cheapest C180K available to have converted.

Thanks, sounds crazy, who would be willing to do that? What happens to the original engine, wheels/tires, etc? Are you sure that's the only way?

So the car can't be had in the US at all? I'm not sure I understand, please clarify. Could I ship my car there and have it brought back AMGD? That would be pretty nuts too I guess.

You would have to buy a car in Germany and pay AMG to do the conversion. Then you get to fight with the German gov't to see if you can get the 17% Value Added Taxes back. Then you pay a couple thousand to ship it to the US. Now you get to post a cash bond equal to the value of the car. Next you find someone to bring the car the Federal specs. If the gov't approves you get the bond back and the car enters the country. If the gov't doesn't approve, you still get to pay for the Federalization work, forfiet the bond and pay to have the car exported.
Or you can by a C320C and have it fully Kleemannized for less money and a hell of a lot less time.

Or, you can just buy the much better looking C32 sedan.

Frank, there have been pics on the internet of a couple of C32 coupes with cloth interiors and black door handles. Remember that leather is a whole lot less popular in Europe than it is here. I think that you have to buy a C320 coupe for the upgrade.
