car cranks but will not start
New to the forum...and thanks to all the contributors.
Have an '03 C320, been having a starting problem with it....first time shop replaced crank position sensor, it work for a couple a months, then it happened again, took it in, shop replaced fuel pump it work for about six months, yesterday it did the same thing. Car will turn with very rough idle and then it turns off. Any ideas as what could be the problem....thanks.

Check all vacuum hoses.
You might have another CPS failure. Did you use a genuine unit? Always check most recenty disturbed items first.
Good luck!
I checked Schrader valve for pressure by pressing with a screwdriver, and there was no pressure.
So, I decided to check both the fuel pump (passenger side) and fuel level sending unit (driver side) for any signs of a bad connections or for something that did not look right. The only thing I noticed on the electrical connection of the fuel sending unit was a brown spot on the plastic cover that cover the 6 wires that connect to the unit and also the rubber seals (Blue and Red), that I guess is to prevent the gas from getting in to the electrical connection, they were all coming apart and breaking down….see picture. So, my question is, Could it be that the unit shorted out because of the gas getting in the connection? I am waiting for the rubber seals to plug it in again and see what happens.
Thanks....
