I believe their claim is 15.2 and no one else has come within half a second of that. Several people have posted scanned timing slips and none of them that I have seen are quicker than 15.72.

Yeah, I've just looked at a copy of crap and dung on my wallmart (hey I live in Iowa for cripes sake) and the kleeman C coupe is only going 15.4. What's up with that? Is it a mistake? I really hope so.

I need to take mine to the track to get a time I can trust. But with my G-tech pro, I ran a 15.19 at like 95.2 mph. I know the time is right, but I forget the exact speed. And this was when my car was completely stock. I know the G-tech could be wrong, but I did have an incredible launch with no tire spinning, so it may be close.

Untrue.

MT's car ran a 7.2/15.3, and Motorweek's ran a 7.4/15.4

The Horses union is on strike, so the best Kleeman could find were some non-union "tuner ponies" from the south....

That car didn't have 250HP.

And MT's car won't go 15.3 on a level track. Or in a reputable publication.

I tend to accept the MT time as more reliable than say car and driver or R&T, because the testing was done for thier 2002 COY Awards, and ALL the cars were tested back to back under the same conditions. NONE of the big 'three' car mags are reputable IMHO anymore. They are too influenced by advertising dollars, nor do thier writers reflect real drivers interests.

Motorweek tests at the same drag strip nearly everytime, IIRC.

I find if perfectly plausible that the car could run a 15.3. That's only .4 sec off the time you prefer. Manufacturing tolerances and test conditions certainly affect overall performance.

Funny how Kleeman's K23 couldn't match the time of a stock coupe.

Wouldn't the weather matter with the Kompressor engine. Are all these runs done in the hot/dry California sun ?

A nice run up north (Seattle, maybe) in the fall/winter would be worth seeing.

Sport compact car did a dyno run of the new Dodge Neon (super fast version) with fans blowing and the water mist blowing toward the engine/intake and got something like 20 hp over what DC rated the engine (I can find the mag. if you want the more info.)

If the testing took place for MT's Car of the Year Awards, aka Motor Trend's sale of the COY to the highest bidder, that is all the more reason to disbelieve the results. The car of the year award is a marketing scheme. Nothing else. You may be correct about the credibility of the car mags, but MT is far and away the least credible.

There is a reason Kleemann's car didn't match the MT time for a stock coupe. The MT time is bogus.
