My car loses power at 50k rpm, anyonelse had this problem???
First time poster here, I have a 2005 c230k 1.8L at 115k. My check engine light came on and my buddy at MB Downtown L.A. check the code and said it might be my fuel injector or my supercharger. He also told me he did a reverse vacuum on the fuel line and said the number stayed steady(not sure what that means). He wants me to take in the shop and run a diagnostics on it but I wanted to see if anyone has had this problem.
One of the symptoms is, when I accelerate using the kick down button the car runs up to about 50k rpms and starts losing power like if it was running out of gas.
My mpg's have dropped from 27 to 22hw and 23 to 19 street.
I have recently changed the fuel filter about 2 months ago and also the spark plugs as well as one of the coils in november of 2012.
Thank you for taking time to read this long post I appreciate your replies in advance.

No he didn't give me the code, all he said that he did a test where he did a reverse vacuum on the fuel line and some numbers, I'm guessing on a diagnostics machine, didn't change. Is the vacuum line something I can check to see if its loose as a DIY?

just look around the engine by the intake and look for any lines that might have fallen off or maybe cracked. if i remember theres a purge control valve that goes out sometimes on the kompressor.

you really should have your friend give you the code that threw the CEL, if not just go to any auto parts store and have them read it and they'll tell you the code. they'll even print out a sheet for you sometimes.

Do you think auto zone can tell you the code? Or any auto parts store you know for sure can...

I also forgot to mention when I step on the accelerator all the way down without clicking the kick down button the car does not lose power, I don't know of that's kinda a weird.

any auto store has the obdII scanner to read it. if you want you can go to harbor freight and get one for like 50 or less, just make sure its obdII and canbus compliant
