I paid MSRP less %20. You can talk them down a little on the base cost.

I forget what the MSRP was I think it was what you paid.

$1250 is is too expensive
for 1 year + 100K miles, and how can you do another 50K miles for one year.

I paid $1690 for 3 years after my original warranty expire and 75K miles.

Warranty Price
We also paid $1690 for the full boat - addl 3 years to a total of 7 years and 100k miles on a C240 Sedan.

The "msrp" on this item is something on the order of $2380, so that should give you some idea of the total markup that the dealer has to work with on this deal.

Any dealer can sell the warranty extensions for any price they want...just as they can sell the cars and parts for any price that makes business sense to them. You just have to push to get the price down to a reasonable level.

somewhat different car, but i'll add in my input...

For a 2002 V8 CLK430, I paid $2,200 for total 7 year, 100,000 mile warranty. I think sticker price for the warranty is somewhere around $2,800

Btw, it also depends on when you buy the warranty. The longer you wait, the higher the prices will go. MB is raising their prices almost every year.

When do the price changes go into effect each year? Anyone know? Also, haven't they been changing the terms of the agreement in what they cover? Any chance it'll go back to covering almost anything?

they change it whenever they want... but it seems to be during mid-year, say, around May... right when the next model year cars are starting to be introduced...

and considering that MB quality control is going down, they are looking to lose money on every warranty plan sold... so i doubt they will make their plans any better than they are now... so get'em while they're still good...

extended warranty
my dealer quoted me this price

1 year is $1,580
2 years is $1,990
3 years is $2,380

I know some guys have gotten a better deal than that. Can I buy this extended warranty somewhere else beside the dealer where I bought my car from?

Thanks

Ed

Call the Chico CA,
MBZ dealer.
They deal on the warranties unlike my local dealer who just said, no to neogitation. Dumbasses.
STF and you'll find more info.

I am sure that you can. All of the repair "Data" and service is logged into a central data base.

I actually ot pretty lucky with my warranty. I paid $0 and received 10 yr\100,000, covered as original, warranty. This resulted from the 2001 class action lawsuit against MB. As I understand it all 2001 MBs qualify (not positive as it has been a couple years)...

i believe that the MB factory warranty that i bought with my 2001 c320 is no longer done which is 8 years 100,000 but it was about 1600 but we argued over that price for days. It started about 1000 higher or more than that.
