Yellow Fog Light Bulbs
Hey guys,
Did the LaminX yellow vinyl on my fogs, but I still want some more yellow. Friend of mine with a MK6 GTI got these Nokya 2500k hyper yellow fogs. Was wondering if anyone has had any experience with these or could recommend any alternatives.
Also, just wanted to verify with people on here that the proper bulb type for a 2001 C240's fog lights are 9006.
Here is a couple links of the product:
http://mtqinc.com/nokyausa/headlights/hy/hy.php
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/9006-Nokya-Hy...vxp=mtr&_uhb=1
Thanks in advance.
Cheers!

look it up sylvania.com they list all bulbs for cars. a lot of top bulb companys like philips dont make 3k or 2500k bulbs so you'll have to go with the cheap brand I've nokya and other ebay brands and they've lasted quite a while. I always keep an extra set just incase one blows.

Yellow fog lights have been demonstrated to be less effective in fog since the 1920's. If you wanted them on a historic vehicle (it was the French who held out the longest. You can always tell a Frenchman, but you can't tell him much.) or as a fashion statement for car shows they'd be fine. Halogen in the halogen housings are fine, and there is no difference between GE, Philips, Osram (owns Sylvania), Stanley, or Ushio (both from Japan) lamps.
HID fog lamps have a slightly higher color temperature which is easier for humans to see, but you cannot adapt them to halogen housings. The beam pattern will lousy, and you won't see as well. In HID housings they are fine.

And of course one of my low beams burnt out tonight. Time to get new bulbs for that too hahah.

So tried installing new bulbs tonight, however, was not able to get past the windshield washer tank on the driver side.

you have to go from underneath the washer bottle so you have to remove the liner in the front.
Studies actually show that having white light or yellow light doesnt help or hinder seeing in the fog since the fog particles are so large still that they really scatter any color of light so there's no advantages in one or the other. The real advantage in the white bulbs over the yellow is that manufactures use a yellow film over the white bulbs usually to get the yellow color which cuts down the light output by 20-30%. The main thing is to make sure the fogs are properly aimed.

you remove the wheel liner that covers the wiper tank and it should slide out and you should be able to remove it. theres 3 or 4 push pins holding it in from the underside. Not to complicated of a job.

Ya I removed the 10mm bolts and then the pushpins I pulled out from the bottom. Does that whole panel slide out somehow? Or is there another piece that I need to pull out?
Thanks in advance.

you need to loosen the middle panel too because the panel it overlapped. it should be two 10mm bolts holding the panel along the side and some push pins in the front by the bumper. once its loosened the panel should slide or drop down.

Hmmm which one is the middle panel? I was able to remove the 3 10mm bolts on the panel on the inside of the wheel well that covers the windshield washer tank. I pulled the three plastic push pins, not sure if they are supposed to come all the way out? Even after doing that nothing really slides off.
