Whatever happened with that? I may have dreamed (I hope not) that someone said their car beeped on arm/disarm and the panic feature still worked.

Please enlighten me.

Thanks

Oh sorry guys I haven't gotten around to find out what the hell they did to our C320. Yes its true that it beeps once when I click unlock and three times when I click lock. The lights blink of course. I can of course click the panic button and see it go off with that annoying whining noise.

I read the service reicept and it said that they had replaced the alarm module (which is somehow near the right front wheel well) and a harness (which got corroded because water got to it...i dont understand how)

I talked to the service manager about it earlier and they are not sure why it does that now and they asked if they wanted it removed but I declined.

I can take videos and stuff to prove it if you guys beg enough.

For starters could you post the P/Ns of the items they replaced. Does it also state on the receipt that they had to go into diagnostics to activate/reset anything.

Yes they had to go into diagnostics to determine what the problem was and then later they had to clear the code.

Sorry for the delay guys.

Okay this is what the remote lock system does...
1. When I click lock once on the remote...the signals blink 3 times and the alarm chirp sounds 3 times
2. When I click lock again...the signals only blink 3 times (no chirp)
3. This does the same with the unlock sequence, chirping only on the first click and not the second click to unlock all the doors
4. Alarm can still be sounded at any moment, in lock or unlock mode.

I looked in the rear fuse compartment to see any changes but I cannot confirm this because I dont have a fuse layout or any previous configuration record. (I saw on the report that they replaced a fuse)

So far this confirms one thing...something had to be changed through the diagnosic computer. It does not seem exactly like the Netherlands feature because panic still works.

man sound too good...not only he still get to keep the panic and chirps it doesnt chirp/beep 2nd time you press either buttons? I hate that, I only want initial press but not 2nd time (sometime i have to press unlock twice on coupe for rear hatch, also sometime just to be safe u wanna press lock again when walking away, etc). Dammit I must know as well....any chance this dealer will let you hook up to Star Diag machine and take some pics of screen (then compare to the instructions on how to activate Netherland mode). Thanks for the info

one additional question - you say chirp. The netherlands settings notification are more of a low volume, high pitch beep.

Not at all like a traditional car alarm chirp.

Now that I think about it a video would be great. Not that we don't believe but at this point to rule this out one way or another. I agree with the above post... MUST HAVE INFO!

Thanks

Actually its a beep not really a chirp. (sorry for the confusion)

I made a video with unlock, lock, and panic sequence but I have one problem...you can't really hear the beeping noise when you lock or unlock the car in the video. I'll try again to see if it works better without the lawn mower from the neighbor in the background.

I'm using a digital camera to take this video
