well all of a sudden the front passenger seat thats allmost NEVER moved the 30 amp fuse keeps blowing for it it blows randomly and by itself IE the seat is NOT being operated and it blows so I have a short any ideas???
I would check the control modular under the seat for damaged wires. If everything looks fine I would unplug the modular and see if it stops blowing. Does the fuse blow the second you replace it or does it take time also does the seat work when it has a good fuse in it? Is there anything else that is powered by that fuse?
I'll check all that out tonight. This seat was working fine my wife never moves it I went to raise it and the fuse was blown I replaced the fuse the next day but never checked it for operation. Tried it this am and it was blown again
Heated seats? Unplug the seat element. They have been known to short.
ok its fuse #1(seat adjustment passenger) rear fuse panel 30 amp green Only the seat is listed on that fuse

seat moves as it should
seat heater works (I think its like 40 out)

Best bet is still the wiring. moving the seat around/ changing the position might move the cabling enough to make contact if the wire is worn in any place. doesn't take, but one hair on the cable braid to make contact...
also, search works too.
