Full gut and headliner

Took two full days to do, short of my SRS light, everything looks good and went well. I'll have Mercedes do the SRS light reset. . Photobucket seems to be duplicating a few of the images here, sorry.

Everything was pressure washed and hung out to dry.

The seat belts were quite dirty. Cleaned up nice though. IDK how they got that bad. Only had the car a few days so some grungy stuff had to come out.

What made you undertake this project?

Did you try to cover the light sensor in the rearview mirror and see if the interior light turns on?

Wow...I've pulled seats and carpet before - but to tear out and replace the fabric on the headliner?!?! Impressive.

Can I ask WHY you removed the headliner - sag / smoke smell / dirt?
(Would have been a GREAT time to install IMS...BTW)

How did you remove it and install it - rear door?

- It looks like you left the rear deck / package tray and C pillar cover in - if you DID remove them - any tips or tricks?
- Any tips or tricks on the A and B pillar covers? Just pull and unsnap?

Great work - looks nice / clean and fresh!

Looks great (well, the steering wheel could use getting a customized redo or the Euro Medical alcantara wheel instead of the ring add-on that you have).

What material did you use on the headliner, and where did you get it from? Did you use Super 77 for adhesive, or something else?

Why not replace the carpet in the process?

Nice job on the headliner. I hope mine never starts peeling like that, I don't know if I have the patience to refinish it like that. Were you able to find a fabric that matched your A,B,C pillars, or did you just find something close?

Thanks all. I didn't remove the rear deck, no need.

Headliner was sagging but it's impossible to reuse the old fabric due to foam under the material and glue disintegrated.

Pillars pressure washed nicely. If you do use very light pressure or you'll blow the glue off.

Carpets pressure washed very nicely considering how light in color they are. The sunroof tray won't come off unless you drop the entire cartridge off the ceiling and disassemble it so plan on re-doing that while it is still in the car if anyone tries it.

Everything I did for removal was easily found google searching before I started. It's a long process in this car. More painful than most.
