Solution to rock chips?

Hey all,

What is best method of preventing rock chips? I'm looking into products such as stoneguard. Has anyone tried that, Clearbra, or any of the others? If you could talk about cost it also would be appreciated.

Doing a search for "Clear Bra" and "Xpel" in this forum produced numerous threads discussing this matter.

I am in the process of getting the Stonegard product....it cost about $475 for the entire kit (full front kit and headlight kit)...Stonegard makes a full kit and partial kit(less ocverage). I am not sure of the install cost..but heard somewhere near $125..they need 3-4 hours to install the full kit.....Stonegard was a little more expensive than the Xpel and other products....

I'm thinking about getting Stongard when the weather gets warmer (installing myself). It's pretty expensive, but I hear MB paint is soft and chips eaisily. Check out Stongard's warantee, I think it's better than some others.

Yep I think it is soft, I have about 5 chips on my hood already (9k miles) Wish I would have known a such product existed earlier. Too many highway miles = too many chips

What's the point of the clear bra over the front bumper. Most of the chips I have are right in the middle of the hood and front fenders. I don't think the bra goes up that high. Also the front bumper doesn't have any chips at all.

Buellwinkle, that is a good point. The clearbra brand (www.clearbra.net), says they offer full hood coverage and have thicker material of 12 mils vs. 8 mils for all the other 3M products.
