What part number is your EIS? It could be the difference. I assume your TPMS module part number matches what I had posted? Also, are the tire pressures being reported in DAS? That would at least tell you the module is working.

How/where would I find the number for the EIS? other parts are the same one shown in the article I haven't had the machine back on the DAS to take the drive but it was showing good signal

You can determine the part number for the EIS with DAS. Once you enter EZS - Electronic Ignition Switch under Body, go to Control Unit Version. For reference, I have part number A2095453408. Not sure if that is the difference, but I will try to change my setting to "without position related pressure values" just to see if I get an error.

Just an update, I changed the setting in the EIS to "without position related pressure values" and it worked just fine, I lost the image that shows individual tire pressures. It just reads "Tire pressure monitor active."

Eis recognizes tpms module in chassis, only allows me to set without position info in body, allows initialization and takes wheel sensor input but continues to have error message of tpms inoperative-drive to workshop and no display of pressures. I canget to tpms reset menu and it says it resets but no change. any suggestions?is there a was to reflAsh the ignition module?

Just bought my Module from a 2008 CLK for $50 on the Bay! Thanks to "autoacres123"

Sure! You bet...I just pulled apart the right side of the car installing the Phone Kit...now the left...
I bought mine from AUTO ACRES RECYCLING and searched per JR's PN for $50!
This store OEM PARTS ONLY has/had one...but wants $90. It is about $200 new at MB.

I've never found a CAN node in the rear. I guess its possible to tap in to the CAN B at the REAR SAM, but I really didn't have too much trouble fishing the twisted pair through the wire tray. Did you get the wire harness P/N that I had posted? If so it will be plenty long!!

NOT WORKING NEED HELP
For those of you that may have been thinking about or wanting active TPMS for your W203, I have found a way to add it that is fairly easy and not too costly. There is an old thread that discusses the addition of TPMS by Sunil and Steve. This was discussing the old Beru system that is very expensive and a PITA to install. The new Schrader system used on the W209s is very cost effective and was a breeze to retrofit on my W203. As a disclaimer, I have to say that this may only work on a facelift W203. I am not sure if the older EIS can communicate with the TPMS module. Also the beauty of the Schrader system is that you can get the wheel sensors for a good deal as they are the same ones used on some Chryslers.
Utilizing good ol’ eBay, I got a set of sensors for $88, a used W209 (also W463 G-class) TPMS module for $70, and I bought a 209 wiring harness for $16.25. The harness was a bit long, but that’s good as its easier to shorten than lengthen!!
My part numbers are:
Sensors MB A0035400217 / Chrysler 56029400AC
Module A0035403945
Wiring harness A2094404508
The sensors fit easily in my stock 2007 six spoke wheels without any mods. I used double back emblem tape to fix the module to the quarter panel. I have attached a few pics from my install and a copy of the schematic to give you an idea of where the plug in the harness. There are three connections, the module, the Rear SAM and the CAN node under the driver’s side instrument panel. I also included step by step DAS instructions, nice thing about this is you don’t need Developer, it can easily be done by a dealer. Well easy is a relative term.
If something is confusing or you need a little more info, let me know!

Initially it seems you have a compatibility issue between the EIS and the TPMS module. For others following this it would be good to post the part number (object number) of your EIS to document what works and what doesn't. I am betting it is different than what I have in my 07. YES I GET THE ERROR IN THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER BUT I HAVE TO DECLARE THERE TOO THAT I HAVE TPMS MODULE,
MAYBE THE WIRING IS WRONG I SEND IT INTO A MERCEDES SHOP BUT I DO NOT KNOW IF THEY DID SOMETHING WRONG IN WIRING.
I GET AN ERROR THAT IT IS INOPERATIVE....
BUT I HAVE NO ERROR READING INTO THE DAS DIAGNOSIS IT IS FUNNY
LIKE IT IS THERE IT COMMUNICATES BUT CANNOT WORK

Did you ever check your wiring? If you can't initialize your TPMS then things aren't good. Being that your car is a pre-facelift and that your CGW is not part of the EIS, which is a big change on the facelift cars, the procedure might be different. I've not had a chance to look at that in DAS simulation.

Finally installing my parts...I had a few other "mod projects" stack up...I like to take the car apart as few times as possible...so I try to at least do two mods or more when removing trims and snaps...
Anyway - few notes to anyone doing this.
1.) Pulling out the rear SAM. Release the lower tab on the vacuum switch (if equipped) on top. Disconnect wire plug - move. Remove upper torx screw and rotate SAM down toward trunk floor.
2.) When routing the twisted CAN wire up to the driver dash panel, there is a small "closed" section right near the driver's seat in the wire tray. You will see it almost level with the floor mat snap, route under and through that before sending the wire to the dash.
3.) The CAN block. Unsnap the corner closest to the tire, it is on a weird angle...but that end with disengage and allow the block to pop out. Disengage the lower holding tray. Now, you will see to use a small trim stick, or rounded tiny screw driver and "open" the slot tang you want to snap the CAN wire end into - you do not just plug it in. You have to "open" it.
4.) When you reinstall the lower dash panel, two things. a.) ensure the air duct is seated nearest the center console and b.) note the round finger push tab in the middle nearest the clutch and brake (you have a clutch right!?) and push up to ensure the hook goes over and rests in the tab.
So that is where this is....for me...for now...soon up to the Dealer for programming and installing the sensors...
Later.

Family comes first and modding the car is low on the priority list below them, extended family, friends, house, work, summer, etc. etc.
But, the past few nights...I retrofitted folding seats, added a front PTS display and ran the TPMS...fun stuff while the girls sleep!

Am about to install 19" AG M510 on my CLK and wanted to avoid transferring TMPS sensors from my 18" since I want to keep them as back-ups. I'm looking to pick up another set of sensors. Do I understand correctly that the MB A0035400217 and Chrysler 56029400AC sensors are interchangeable? That would be great since Chrysler TPMS seem to be quite a bit cheaper on Ebay than the MB's.
