Nightmare trying to lease a Coupe

I cannot believe how difficult it is to lease a C coupe! I almost had a deal closed with an "unexpected" Magma red vehicle, but the dealer wanted full list, an acqusition fee of close to $1,000 and a money factor that was marked up over MBZ Finance's already very high rate. Yes, the residual was good, but the car leased out at a payment that would otherwise get you a much more expensive BMW or Audi--or a C Sedan fo that matter! The Phoenix area's two dealers are egomaniacal jerks, and they make purchasing a "low-end" mercedes a real drag. I guess I will go and get a 325ci for a payment that will likely be lower than the C coupe!

Try a third party leasing company. Sometimes they come up with awesome deals. If not come west a few miles to So.Cal. The dealers deal bigtime here.

Third parties are not good as they generally do not let you "buy down the rate" like the captured companies do. I will try the So Cal dealers. I noted a few names in the forums, but do you have any suggestions? Have there been any non-presold vehicles showing up, or do you have to order everything. By the way, did anyone ever post the new November residual?

Thanks, but these are not great rates, either. The residuals are worse than MBZ and the moneyfactors are only ok. In addition, they do not allow you to use multiple security deposits to buy down the lease money factor. This is the only way to get to a reasonable payment that is comparable to captive finance companies like BMW or Audi. I will keep trying, but if I cannot find a car it is moot.

Almost any bank that leases allows for MSD's (multi sec. deps). The program in Leasecompare.Com does not allow you to enter for it but I am sure that the banks posting those rates will allow it. The only problem I had with the site is that I couldnt find out what banks were offering what payments without completing a credit app.

I don't understand what pre-sold is but my dealer has about 4-5 different C230s every week that I'm there (I'm there every week because of the free car washes). I don't think you'll have a problem getting one right away if you're not picky about color.

Give Mark Hoye at MB of Laguna Niguel a call, he's the internet sales manager and tell him Carl sent you. 949 347-3700.

Thanks folks, I will check out the banks' ability to use multiple security deposits to lower the money factor and I will give the gentleman at Laguna Nigel MBZ a call. I really appreciate your great input! I will post my progress.
