Would really like to bust MB Encino on this
Driver side cam mag's leaking and found oil in the black plastic connectors pictured below. MB encino said they replaced the defective cam mags in July of 2011 under an open campaign and MB USA says they won't cover the cost again.
I'm having trouble believing if it was really replaced 2 1/2 years ago that it would be leaking again, so based on the part number written on the cam mags, can anyone tell if this this an updated part number or one of the original defective Cam Mags??

That's BS. They must fix them & I suggest fitting pigtales or next thing you will be in for an engine harness.

that little drip below the magnet is nothing to be worried about. Perhaps give a little snug on the 3 bolts to better seat the o-ring inside. You should be using isolating wires/leads to prevent any capillary action with migrating oil through the harness. The wires are only about $25 each

I took a photo capturing more of the the front. Are the pigtails there?
My plan of attack is going to be to KEEP THE OLD CAM MAGS, and just replace the O rings, the expansion plugs and the isolation wires (you provided pic's of it)- I'm assuming I replace the isolation wires since I found oil in them, yes?
I would like to check my O2 connectors for oil. Not really sure how. I kind of get that they're near the back of the engine toward the driver side, but that's about it. Anyone have any specific pics/instruction on how to do this?

yes, looks like they installed the isolation wires, you can see them tied up neatly with a cable tie. Because you have the wires in place you will not get any oil further than the first plastic connector on the cam solenoid. No need to replace the isolation wires as they are there to stop the migration of oil beyond the first connector. You can clean them out and re-attach

Great - You have the pigtales fitted. At least you are contaminating them & not the main harness. Clean them with electrical contact cleaner.

Thx, Glyn. It was suggested to detach the wires first, clean, then reattach, but what I'm unsure of is how to take off those wires w/o breaking the pigtails.
