Timing chain noise??? Please listen!
Based on all of what I read, I had my son shoot a video of my start up. I would love to hear if it sounds "fine" or if I should plan on an imminent chain replacement.
BTW for what it is worth. The car had stood for over a week it needs an oil change and the garage is pretty cold NC cold, not Canada or up north cold ;-)

I am by no means an expert but it sounds like it may be low on oil. Check your oil level, if low, top it up then try running the engine. If the noise doesn't go away, it may be best to have it checked out.
Take a look at this thread, guys posted several clips of their engines on page 10: https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...-apart-10.html

Brand new OEM filter (though I think its paper and not fleece) and 0W-40.
I guess it is caused by the oil not staying in the head like it should when turned of, and it is slowly draining back into the pan.
There is usually a kind of valve beneath the oil filter to prevent this. I'm sorry I don't know the english word for this part, or if it is present at m271's at all..
