Schaetz "prestige" v.s. cheap ebay sport grills?

I don't really want to fork down $300-400 for the CL type grill right now, so I'm looking to get one of the other sport grills. I know there are a ton of posts about aftermarket grills, but I want to know from those who have bought them if there is any difference between the German made Shaetz grills sold at places like formymercedes.com and the replica ones sold on ebay for much less. I know the look is basically the same, but I'm more concerned about the quality. I have never seen pictures of the "prestige" grill, but supposedly it has a bigger star than the "elegance", which seems like something I'd prefer. If anyone has a pic of the prestige, please post. Thanks in advance for your helpful replies!

sorry...I guess I wasn't clear. I meant that the true CL type grills like the one on the car in your signature cost $300-400, which I do not want to buy. The cheapest I've seen the Schatz prestige grill is $229 at formymercedes.com, which looks exactly like the replica ebay grills for $115-125. My question is whether or not there is a big difference in quality between the Schatz and the ebay grills that would make spending an extra $100 worth it in the long run.

Where did you find those for $3-400? Are you sure you're not getting the cheaper grille?

I'm not positive about that price, all I know is that I don't want to spend that much money on a grill right now. I got that price range from threads I saw here and other sites/message boards.

CL Grille

There's a CL type grille on ebay at around $280-$300.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2443894845

Anyone try 'em???

I think he is talking about the non '3D' grill....the 'taiwanese grill'. Same as the one junbug posted from ebay.

That one looks like it's set too low in the pic of that c-class on there...lots of room between the top of the grill and the bottom of the hood.
