The passenger headrest rattle fix did not work for me

I took out the headrest and bend the rods apart as far as they will go ( the metal rod ends up touching the outside of the plastic hole it comes out of ). After that, I put it back in ( it was hard pushing it down since there's a lot more friction in there now ).
The rattle has diminished a bit, it doesn't happen ALL the time like it used to. It only happens over harsh pavement ( which is common in NY/CT where I drive ). I guess the next step is to replace the seat?

Have you try the Silicon Spray? Eventhough is different area but it might work too...

Yes, it fixed it. They did it last March and there is no rattle from the headrest.

I think this was a problem with some of the 2002s, where the guides in the seat back were too large for the pins on the headrest. But it was supposed to have been fixed on the 2003s

im still waiting for the headrests. its been 2 weeks. *sigh* they supposedly bent the rods, changed the guides twice, and the head rest once on both sides. yes on both sides. both sides rattle. my car sounds like its falling apart as for the silicon spray, does it leave a residue? i might try it if nothing works.

Lynn, thanks, I''ll have them replace the guides

Next time I go to service. I hope they don't give me crap for having bent the rods myself.
