Starmark warranty
Hi Forum,
Short question: If I buy a 02 C320 from a private party still under factory warranty (the car, not the private party, he,he) and the factory warranty ends in next 2000miles) is there a way to get the extended Starmark warranty.
Thanks for your help.
Robert

Starmark warranty
To goingbrabus,
Thanks for your reply. Yes, I just purchased the car and got a hell of a deal on it because of the high miles. I spoke to my MB dealer and he told me, NO WAY!! (but I know, this doesn’t mean anything MB dealers are special people).
Do you know by any chance, whom to contact about this extended warranty?
Thanks
Robert

Yeah, you can't get a Starmark warranty unless you purchase the car from the dealer. But there are aftermarket companies that offer extended warranties. I don't know the names of any of them, but they're out there. Just be careful and do your research. Some companies are good, and some can be really bad. Read the fine print.

The car was on eBay. I was the high bidder but didn't meet the reserve price. So I contacted the seller and told him, I'll buy it for $22,000.00 delivered to Florida. (The seller is in Washington,DC).
He agreed and so I got the car.

i thought you had to by the extended warranty before the one year anniversary of the purchase of the car. i purchased my starmark extended warranty 7year/100k miles about 5 months after i bought my car. im not sure but i think it has to be within 1 year, unless you bought a starmark used car from the dealership.

You are absolutely right, you have to purchase the STARMARK warranty in the first year of ownership. I purchased the DAIMLER-Chrysler warranty. You have to buy this warranty BEFORE the original factory warranty expired. Both warranties are from MB and they are not so much different other then the DAIMLER-Chrysler warranty is more expensive then the STARMARK but you can buy it after the first year of ownership. LML told me, I will get a card like a credit card and have to show the card at the dealership.

and yes you can add a 70k mile warranty to your car..but i think you have to do this before yoy hit 50!!
