About to buy in 3 hours need help!!! 2004 C240 110k miles

I am about to purchase a 2004 Mercedes c240 with 110k miles.

Its white

It drives good.

The bad from my test drive:
1. The steering wheel isnt straight. Not too bad but off a little bit. I guess just needs alignment.
2. There are some really low pixels on the center info screen. Ebay shows a $125 replacement service.
3. The center console lid is broken. ( i can buy used i guess)

Overall drove good.

My worries:
1. Is $6,000 too much for this car?
2. Am i screwed at 110k miles? The owner bought at 100k miles for $8k and now hes leaving country (a student)
3. What are some major problems im looking at;
4. one fog light doesnt work

Owner said he gave a oil change and changed the brakes and tires.

Here is the carfax history and pics:

2002 c240
If it hasn't been serviced in four years, including at the magic-mile (100k) AND at $6000, I'd recommend leaving it alone.
(I would definitely say that $6k for a 2004 C240 with 110k miles is too much)

Looks nice I cant say it'll be problem free but for that price not bad I'd assume. I bought mine for 5500 and they still go for $7000 + around here.. mines got roughly the same amount of miles ( 170 km) only issue was a thermostat and stepper motor.. havent tackled the stepper motor but the thermo was cheap . But I'd have a trustworthy reliable knowledgeable technician look at it.

I bought my 01 C320 for about $5400, and I've seen C240/280's in your year range go for anywhere between $5500 - 6500. So I'd say you are spot on with the price. Just make sure you play with all the electronics over and over and over and over again and make sure they aren't just "temporarily" working. Also, drive the car slow and steady in the city, normal on the highway, maybe get into some traffic too so you can get an idea of how the transmission is shifting. Check under to make sure nothing is bent, broken or worn to make sure the off center steering isn't a more costly issue.

LCD screen is a common issue. You can replace it yourself for cheap, I have seen the screens for about $55. There is a DIY floating around.

Center console can be had online or at a yard. Mine came with a broken cup holder cover, which I have paid 0 attention to as it doesn't bother me.

Another good thing to look at is fluid colors. Check any fluid you can get easy access to and go from there. Fluids can tell you a lot about a car.

Good luck!

Well, congrats, then on the purchase. My assumption is that the first thing you did was remove that steering wheel cover.

Looks like a pretty clean 04; hopefully it gives you years of mostly trouble-free driving.

The C240 is a particularly durable package. Tough M112 engine & 722.6 transmission. Service it properly. Change tranny fluid every 39K miles. Watch the $10 electrohydraulic bush for leaks & castor bushes for cracks & you will be fine.
