Reminder... We need Coupe Tire/Rim weights

As some of you are now on your Winter tires, this is a reminder that we need some weight information comparing the standard US wheel/tire combo with the US C7 wheel/tire. Since your summer tires are now stacked in the garage corner, now would be a good time to grap one and head for the scale.

Information shared here will help answer the performance questions that have cropped up.

Exclamation Weight of a C7 rim/tire combo (posted to stop MB-BOB from complaining)

Since MB-BOB has been asking for this for quite some time, I weighed a C7 rim with the ContiSport tire, and it came out to 44 lbs. I was cleaning them up to put in the car, so that I can get them re-mounted tomorrow.

Of course, what does that mean? Yep, a snowstorm is coming through the Northeast tomorrow. I'm going to do it anyway, since n NJ almost never has snow on the roads, due to the large amount of traffic, and I'm just tired of the ugly steelies.

Don't worry - I washed my car yesterday, and it *stopped* raining! I think we benz owners have points with the weather gods

Now, I'd love to know what the base wheels weigh. Anybody?

Thanks, tommy, you're off the hook for a while, now!

So, does anyone have the standard wheel/tire combo sitting in the garage while snows are mounted on the car? We need the weight of the standard wheel/tire combo to compare to tommy's 44 lb. C7 wheel/tire combo.

Thanks, Bob

haha, we got an inch also... all this time i thought it was my snow tires but it was tommy's!!!

from my bedroom window, i can see the roof of my garage and it's covered w/ white stuff (maybe snow ). so i got dressed warmly, got the shovel and went outside to clear the driveway... but the rain has washed most of it away! whoo hoo!

tommy, you don't have to change your tires.

Whoa - did you see the weather report? Guess the above doesn't apply anymore; and now it's raining, too. My bad.
