Just noticed today while looking for my tire gauge there was a silver door built into the inside of the glovebox door. You cant even see it unless you almost stick your head into the glovebox. Pulled it open and found it was a compartment for a pair of sunglasses. Never saw mention of this in the owners manual and might have never known it was there. Does everyone have this? Am I the only slow one that took this long to find it. Had the car 3 months.

i use it as pen holder...
oakleys don't fit there...

Its got to be made of the lowest grade plastic known to man. MB should be ashamed it made its way into the car. It holds my AUX cable for when I hook up a ipod or laptop for sound.

I have 2 oakleys...one fits one doesnt...neither are plastic, both metal frames.

i use as insurance card and registration holder. the rest of the area in the glovebox is my cds

If you just found the holder now; your dealer did a real shat job when you took delivery of the car....
Some dealerships are just more professional I guess.

I found the sunglass thing the second day when I was deciding where to put the CD changer.

It's located in the glove compartment, toward the right side. It is only two little clips that can hold a pen or a tire gauge.

I have a 2005 C230 and I want to know if this "Glove box Sunglass case / storage case" will work in my car. I see I can order it - there seems to be NO location for it in my car - unless mounting locations are hidden under the flecked lining. Can some one with this "option" post a picture or two - I am curious about it. Thank you, Jake

It seems in a cost reduction M-B took away the fresh air center grille thub wheel and this case...among other things I am sure...

What's funny is, I don't have that sunglass holder on the top of the glovebox (I think due to my cd changer).

Do you have a cavity there instead? Also, maybe they used the glove box door that they used on the 2005's? Your MY is pretty close!
