cooled seats anyone?

I was snooping around and noticed the control module on the bottom of the Seat. It has 4 empty connectors on it and I imagine one is for the cooling feature. Can anyone confirm this? I am going to order the CLK cooled seat switch bank today and try it out.

might have a control module packaged with another one so MB doesnt have to produce 2 different things but i do not think the actual fans are in the seats.

I know for sure the fans are not in the seats but the control modules should be the same. I will do more research and find out.

Maybe it is for the multi-contour seat control?

hot seat

Actually, my butt never overheats

Cloth seats in my car take care of this problem, along with moderate butt size

Steve Installed a set of heated/Multicontour and Cooled front seats on his last visit..The Cooling fans are in the seats.
They pull the air in through the seat back side of the seat and at the bottom of the seat pad..They work Sweet!

Sunman...So, are you going to do the rear?
Steve wants me to do the rear seats..But since only my Doggies
are there ..I passed

i just got reply back from Steve. Looks like it just may work. The buttons above the radio ( 8 of them) all work through the CAN bus system. That signal is also fed under the seat to the seat control modules. 2 wires - Can high and Can low. The seat module itself has 4 empty connectors and I assume one is for the vented seat fans. The other 4 are already occupied for head rest adjustment, seat movments, heated seats. I am going to try and order the CLK switch bank and test everything. Steve has to get me matching seats now. Just the pads I assume is all I need. As for the rear seats, I doubt I will do that. I didn't even know it was an option.

I'd be interested in the cooled front seats for the hot summer days! How much is it and how do you control it?

The W209 switch bank fits in the W203 without a doubt...most features in the switch bank are controled by CANBUS - the heated seats are NOT though. The heated seats are still wired the exact same as in the W210 which is why I think that the ventilated feature will be wired the same as in the W210 as well...meaning that you will be needing an additional wireharness for the ventilated parts (which is seperately available for the W210).

The W209 wiring harness for hetaed/vented seats is different then the one for the heated only seats...the ventilation control module in teh W210 seats is a small separate unit in the seat itself...need to do some more digging - but it looks doable.

greetingz,
